For Vista, yes, it's complicated. For XP it's very ez.

Not complicated, just run Notepad as Administrator and open the hosts file.

Hm, i did everything as described and i just keep getting the korean message, that the server is under inspection. Is it supposed to be like that? On top of that KSRO doesn't seem to work anymore after editing the host-files. It's only working, when i delete the lines again.

If you get that message, your hosts file if just fine

It's because KSRO also has two login servers that look like that.
gwgt1.silkroadonline.co.kr
gwgt2.silkroadonline.co.kr
So when you have some other than KSRO's login IP address before those lines, it won't work.
So u can't play KSRO and Zelos at the same time.

But UAC is crap. It doesn't let you directly save the file. U have to modify the hosts file somewhere other than the hard drive and replace the hosts at the original location.
But if u disable UAC, u should be able to do it at the original location.

Do I also have to download KSRO? I only downloaded the ob_client and I don't have any other SRO stuff on my PC anymore.
So it will not work? What do I have to do then?

You only need to download the ob_client and just leave it like that. Don't update it or anything.

U just need to have the folder named ob_client with all the files any sro has once u have extracted all the parts. No ksro needed.
