How do u make silkroad work on Win2000?
I finally got my computer fixed, but got it in Windows 2000.(Because my old windows version was pirated). When my computer was winXP, SRO worked. Now, even tho its the same computer, same hardware, its not working. First time I run SRO, it said i had to install DirectX9.0b. I did that. Then I tried again but it said some error with C++. Can u help me?

It should work for win2000. JoyMax says so. Where did you download your version? Stupid question, I know, but rangah also has/had the same problem and he said it's because he didn't dl from the official website.

Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library|_|E|X|

Runtime Error! |
|
F:\Silkroad\Silkroad_client.exe |
|
Abnormal Program termination |

the thing above is supposed to be the window.
BTW there is no minimize/maximize buttons on the title bar...its just X.

again, sounds like a GFX driver issue. Please update ALL your drivers, including:
Chipset INF
GFX (Video)
LAN (ethernet/modem)
Audio
ANYTHING else like USB2.0 and IDE or whatever(if applicable)
Also, check maybe your monitor/LCD does not have EDID support or is a legancy display device. See if there an updated driver for that aswell.

Install .net framwork. this might help
I'm waiting in my cold cell, when the bell begins to chime.
Reflecting on my past life and it doesn't have much time.
'Cause at 5 o'clock they take me to the Gallows pole,
The sands of time for me are running low.
Can it be that there's some sort of error.
Hard to stop the surmounting terror.
Is it really the end, not some crazy dream.

I suspect this is one of the case where the error message is saying the wrong thing. Why would this game has anything to do with whether you have Visual C++ (or .Net Framework) or not? Most of us don't have it and it works just fine. Looks like a Win2000 error, not JoyMax so I would try to keep the drivers up to date as Jack suggested and see what happen.

I think windows XP SP2 has .net framwork already with it..
so thats why it works for us without needing to install it..
