Hockey, same with american football, are all sports with loads of fat people and their fans are even fatter. There isn't one high school movie (and I've seen almost too much) that doesn't have at least one huge fat guy that was in the team.
Reason: Hockey and American football are sports that they need the fat people to ram through the other team's defences.
Have you btw ever noticed that all those former football players also turned hella fat, and that almost every high school football coach/gym teacher is fat?
big doesn't necessarily mean fat. there's tons of big athletes to go around, so no, you won't see any random fat guys in the nfl or even div 1-A of college football.
