Tritton AX720

Post by MrJoey »

Anyone have any experience setting one of these up for Xbox 360?
I've got the optical set up just fine, and I get game sounds. It's getting the mic to work I'm having trouble with. It's all hooked up as far as I can tell, yet there's a part of the instructions that says:
"5. To confirm XBOX Live settings, press the “XBOX Globe Button” when a game is loaded, and
go to Personal Settings > Voice. Ensure that “Headset only” is selected. This is especially
important if you have previously used the TRITTON AX360 with this XBOX"
I'm assuming "Xbox Globe Button" is the big green X in the middle of the controller, I hit that, and nowhere do I see Personal Settings or Voice. I'm guessing the instructions are for an earlier version of the Xbox software, and thus it must have changed? If so, how do I follow the instructions, I've checked every menu option I can find, and none seem to resemble the instructions anywhere. None of the videos on youtube show that part, and I can't find a source on google neither.

I'm not trying to troll you, but what is the point of these headsets, the data transfer of VOIP for the xbox is still shit even after the update. Buying these are such a bottleneck to the value. You could use the money to buy a game instead of headphones that are pointless, I mean they might make you cool for like 10 seconds but anyone online won't see them

Joey has hearing problems and likely needs the headphones because of said hearing problem.

With headphones like the Tritton you can get 5.1 surround sound through your headset+have the ability to voice chat on both xbox and ps3 (it's a crossplatform headset). With the headset on your ears you're able to hear from where people are coming so it's easier to kill them.

Anyway, I haven't seen the layout of the new xbox yet but I assume you have to find system settings and in that there should be an option for sound/voice settings.

Originally got them for PS3 months ago. It's cross platform as Moshe said. I play at night often, and have people sleeping around here, and headphones allow me to have the audio at a level that I can actually hear it.
As Qi said, I am hard of hearing, so the headsets help even more. I mainly use them for the game audio, voice chat is just a perk.

Think I looked through all the system settings options, but I'll try again.

I didn't know the 360 slim has a different layout as the old one. o.O You should be able to hit the guide button (that big X in the middle indeed) and then scroll all the way to the right to find the system settings. And then one of the later ones should be voice/music settings.

The screen isn't different, but I'm guessing that the instructions for it, were for an original software for 360, and that it has gone through some changes since Tritton made the instructions.

Hmm, well I don't have my xbox here or I would've made a few pics. Let me see if I can find something on google.

Hit the guide button and you should get something similar to this:
Image

Scroll all the way to the right till you find this tab and then go to console settings. The sound/chat etc option should be in that page :/

At the dashboard go to my xbox (up/down movement) then go all the way to the right to find system. Then select console settings and you should find it.

Tried that, thus I think there might be something wrong with either A. the cable that came with the headset or B. the controller.

Did you find the option yet then? Cuz I don't think it has to be connected before you will see the option.

I have this headset and it was just plug and play for me - for xbox. On my PS3 I had to play with the settings.

I think Tritton fucked up. Just compared the end of the cable that goes into the controller with the headset that comes with the xbox. Completely different, and I don't have the right one anywhere. Had to buy a cable, so it should work now. (Will test, after sleep.)
