GIMP or Adobe's Photoshop are themost used i think
gimp is free and you can DL it here http://www.gimp.org/
PS is very expensive but you can find your way ...

Uhh well yea, I use photoshop CS2 / ImageReady CS2 , Photoshop 7 (rarely), Cinema 4d, 3d Studio Max
I use Cinema 4d to make 3d abstract renders, 3d studio max to make detailed renders and photoshop cs2 or 7 to make signatures / wallpapers and sometimes banners for sites, and edit photo's / photo manipulation.
Image Ready incase I want to add some moving effects to banners / signatures ( rarely, because I think a banner / signature should be nice and clean, have a nice flow)

The most things you see in my signatures are made by myself, brushes / 3d renders, everything but the font and the normal renders.

I don't have alot of time lately to dedicate to making art though, Have to work alot atm.
But I will participate in next week's Sig Wars! Beware! xD lol.

350x150
300x122
450x150
400x122
