Re: Hunting
Hunt rabbits (rabbit stew) deer and ducks.
YUM!
@McLovin1t
Animals are orphaned every other day, due to other animals. We are animals, and have been killing for food for however long we were on this planet. Why is it any different now?

I wouldn't worry about what he thinks, the kid has obviously never been outside the comfort of his parents house.

Re: Hunting
I never understood the thrill behind modern day hunting....but I can understand the connection with the tradition of hunting.....
Something about baiting a deer or bear then shooting it doesn't seem like hunting to me....or seeing the animal feeding in the shrubs a few hundred yards then shooting it doesn't seem exciting....and I don't really like the hill billy idea of hunting an elk moose ram just for its horns and hide to show it off...such a waste...and I also hate to see people hunt carnivores just to make rugs....and again show it off..
Don't get me wrong...I will never tell a man how to spend his free time or try to get in the way of what he thinks is tradition...If you are willing to eat the meat of the mountain lion or wolf you just shot I have no problem with that I'd actually have some respect for you as a hunter...I'd even have tons more respect for you as a hunter if you had to really hunt and work hard to catch your prey...not just shoot it from a tree or hill top with your scoped rifle....
That's just my opinion on the matter of hunting anyways not facts. I can't speak to harsh on hunters anyways because I fish..but at least I eat what I catch.

Re: Hunting
Why use a gun with a scope instead of a rock? Why use a compound bow instead of a stick and string? Why drive a car instead of riding a horse? Why look things up using the internet instead of a dictionary?
It's all about technology, things weren't invented to make life harder. Why go out hunting with a stick and a rock and risk the chance of getting killed. Hunting-Unlike it's made out to be in hollywood-was never meant to be about risk, but to bring home food to survive off of. These "hillbillies", you are generalizing, more than likely eat the meat of what they kill, but of course they don't go around showing people their poop to show they killed that animal, that's why they have the hide and antlers.

lol....nice of you to go to the opposite extreme of what I'm saying. I ain't saying to go take on a cougar with your bare hands....but if you had to stalk the cougar and somehow out smart it and then shoot it...that I respect..as oppose to using a bunch of blood hounds to tree the cat then shoot it....

How many times have you been hunting?

Never been..and I don't think I ever will...but I've listen to hardcore hunters either tell me of their encounters or tell each other...I've listen to plenty of them when I'm at the local archery range shooting my bow....I've even find myself with them at the gun range and all they do is talk about hunting stories and encounters.....
I don't have to be a hunter to know what they do and how they do it...they're right there telling me....And no I don't know about hunting first hand but from my impression it doesn't seem to be fun in the way most of them hunt.....Treeing a cat with dogs or baiting a bear with raw meat or shooting an moose while its just standing there doesn't seem like a good hunting experience....to me
I'm not against hunting just how it's done these days...some hunters have fascinating stories to tell though....those ones are few and far between...Most hunting is like...."we went out...we spot some deer...I shot one"...."We went out to find turkeys..sat in a tent with the dummy turkeys out there...when a turkey shows up we shot it"....wooptidoo...how fun..
I think whats probably missing from hunting is that 99% of so called hunters today don't have to rely on it as their main source of food....so hunting has become (or rather is nowadays) a sport...a pass time...a hobby.

"Melee" has been adopted and popularized as a term in war-gaming, board games, and video games to encompass all close-quarter fighting, as opposed to "ranged attacks". The term describes directly striking an opponent at ranges generally less than a few feet with fists, feet, knives, rifle-butts or any other melee weapon with the intention of causing harm.
The term was first applied to games in H.G. Wells's 1913 Little Wars, where the author develops a "melee rule" in his war game. It was later popularized by Dungeons and Dragons, which featured a "melee phase" to represent the fighting of characters outside of bows and magic.
This term still applies to most role-playing games, but is often used in the context of first-person shooter video games to specify a non-ranged attack. This began with the 1992 game, Wolfenstein 3D, which featured a knife that could be selected from the inventory, just like a gun. Because of the risk involved in using a melee weapon, they were typically the most powerful weapons available, in terms of damage. Later, Duke Nukem 3D would include a button that allowed the character to kick enemies while still wielding a gun.
yes I wiki'd melee lol
