Do you belive in god?
Re: Do you belive in god?
I'm going to need to see the direct (translated) quotes from the Quran. Not the wishful, biased, mental gymnastic preachings of a single psuedoscientist.
Like I said, when you start with a conclusion, you will make the 'facts' fit. No matter how much you have to BS and twist them.
BTW - What say ye on the fact that God couldn't even count the number of planets correctly? Or is that just a typo in the divine text?

heroo does have a point there.
You'd think god could've made the other planets alive too.

Are you trolling?
He does not have a point. For all we know there could be billions of inhabited planets. Considering we've extensively explored only 1 of 70,000 million million million planets in the universe. And the distances between just the planets in our galaxy are so vast that we may never explore them. To assume they don't have life is ignorance at best. It's obvious life can and will arise on a planet, it's documented here on Earth.
But I think you just trolled me.

Herein lies the problem with having a conclusion before the premises. Even with the errors pointed out by EvGa, you still put forth arguments that you believe supports the Qur'an's infallibility. This claim on the embryos will be shot down and you will have another claim up your sleeves. The same procedure goes over and over until one of your arguments cannot be proven wrong (most likely due to some universal truth such as a convoluted argument on Islam and Mathematics), which you will then take as a triumph, regardless of all the filth you swept under the carpet.
It's a progress-ridden mindset.

oh this is still going?

already explained it's called faith for a reason, I think there MAY be a god, just what I've been taught, and pretty sure science shows otherwise, we're still a work in progress.
blah blah blah too much work not enough SRO time.

heroo wrote:I'm not talking about the process itself with evolution and shit, but about how the system manages to balance everything. How can it be that the earth is the only planet in the whole universe we found life on? How can it be that trillions of species are able to survive on the same planet?
It's just more than laws of nature, there is something divine.
I assume you know what we live of, that is, oxygen. Billion years ago, oxygen not only was a rare element, but it was toxic for whomever inhabited the planet.
Would you call Earth a planet willing to host creatures such as we are? I would certainly not.
Back then -and we're still talking of billion years ago- Earth's creatures lived upon substances that would kill us at any rate such as hydrogen (yes, it'd kill us), methane, sulfure dioxide, carbon monoxide and so on. Just FYI, some creatures or the abysses still live upon such substances at extremely hot or/and cold degrees.
After some other organisms came to the fore and started expelling mortal oxygen in the air, those creatures evoluted and adapted themselves to the new atmosphere and on and on, we and every other creature that base their lives on oxygen, arrived.
This is a rough summary of what happened on Earth in the last 4 billion years. I'm not saying this is fully true, for nothing is, nor that you've got to believe what I'm saying here since this I can't say is what happened, but what MAY have happened; I'm just trying to tell why what you call "a perfect place for life" is such.
Furthermore, EvGa is right. Who can tell that in those trillion trillion miles -and it's certainly far more- we have not explored, may exist life? Or who can tell that in some million years Earth won't be such a planet and Mars and Venus, for example, will be inhabitable?
Unless I just got trolled. >_>

Re: Do you belive in god?
or better yet, that life as WE know it doesn't already exist - like silicon life forms that live for billions of years? Time is all relative to us short-lived mammals.
Or a planet that is itself alive - like Solaris. Bad movie, great book.

Re: Do you belive in god?
I don’t denie the existance of divine. But showing that a human of an entirely different timeframe had knowledge beyond his years doesn’t prove divine. The human potential has always been. A couple thousand years doesn’t change this.

Yeah, could give you the same advice seeing how you managed to get your thread derailed by the third post.
This thread was a sinking ship 20 years before you decided to hit the new topic button.

Yea, I could have given a simpler answer. Humans have been star gazing and mapping the night sky since our inception. It's not too difficult to notice the irregular movement of certain dots in the sky (planets) against the different movements of the dots (much more distant bodies) and then label them as planets (or any word you want to designate them) to show they are different. this requires no divine revelation. And like I pointed out earlier, if the Quran is divine, God counted wrong (lol), has a different definition of planet than us, or there is a typo (lol).
The embryo example... come on. Serious? PERFECT example of grabbing at straws and doing mental gymnastics to make things fit your conclusions. Taking vague quotes from any text and making them fit the specifics of scientific discovery is not difficult. "Look her it says red dog" "Dog in (insert language) means large body and red..so..um.. obviously this means they knew about Mars!!" "How could they!" "God dun it."
And btw Za, humans are an evolved form of a lower species, Apes to be specific. apes are an evolved form of a lower species. So on and so forth. We were not placed or created on Earth as humans, we evolved to be humans. Although evolution has slowed (in the human species) due to our advances in technology. We do continue to evolve.

I knew how to use a toilet before I was 7. no 20 years ago I shit into a soap bar box and left it for my mother to find because I thought it would be funny. Apparently it invokes asswhooping.
