Sell/Buy Items for over a billion...Crazy? or Safe?

How do people sell or buy weapons/gear priced at over 1 billion? For example a Bow/Glavie etc being sold for 2 billion....

That must be a very nervous exchange for the person who either pass over their item for the first billion and is waiting for the second billion.... or for the person who forked over 1 billion and waits for the second trade to pay the other billion and receive the item......

Frankly I think people who sell their stuff for more than what the trade window or stall will allow are just complete greedy a**holes who can't be trusted. I bet when the table is turned they will refuse to be the one to take the risk by sticking out their necks first.

normally the buyer pay first. example: you buy SON glavie for 2b, you must buy first arrows or pots or anything the seller stall for 1b, then after that, the glavie will be stall for 1b. (the item that you are buying normally the last one to be stall after u have pay the initial amount.)

If you don't trust someone don't buy from him. Many people have been scam cuz they trust too much just like my friend who got scam 1.8bil cuz he tried to buy SON spear in the early days of 110cap.(the guy who scam him is his guild member, they have been guildmates for more than 2years) so you really can't say that you can fully trust someone. If you want better items you have to take risk.

and btw in exchange only 100mil is max and 999m in stall, they usually do their transactions in stalls.

The most expensive item now are nova staff and nova 2h sword. they range from 3b-6b depending on + and stats.

just imagine when u try to buy nova+10 staff for 6b then u got scam after u pay 5bil. Its all about taking chances.

You mean its all about NOT taking chances...why would I ever pay someone 5 billion initially and expect/"hope to god" that they put my item in the window for the final trade...you gotta be drunk and stupid.

I think these sellers are greedy wanting that much for any weapon ...no matter what the stats of it is. And anyone willing to satisfy these greedy bastards appetite by paying that much deserves to be scammed

that's why if you want the best items, you have to take risk. Most of the top players of the server are not scammers only minority of the people that have nova+10 or better are scammer. my friend bought a nova+10 glavie for 5b, he didn't get scam. I have also bought several items myself over 1b and I was never scammed.

Yea just be careful who you buy from. It unlikely (however possible) someone with a full nova set and a 110 char is going to duff over their character over a measly 3b.

A middle man that both people trust. On troy there are a few players who are well known and trusted as middle men. People use them all the time to make high dollar trades.

Seller gives the middle man the weapon.
Buyer gives the middle man the gold (stall pots or w/e)
Middle man gives weapon to buyer and gold to seller.
Trade is done.

We (me and people in my guild) never deal directly with the seller/buyer. There is always a middle man.

Know who to trust in the server, pretty much. Theres a few people I would blacklist from any deals regardless or item trade/middle man in Athens. Problem with middle men, is everybody has their own usually.

If the deal seems shady, back away quickly. I've sold a nova bow for 4b, a 10d sun sword for 5b, and even gave away a nova 2h this cap. In doing that, you could say I had to sludge through most of the scammers and some pretty obvious scams that were laughable at best.

It's all about being smart. Don't let that pretty sun glow blind your judgement.

I think there are some golden rules that everyone should make for themselves, based on their server.

heres some of my gold rules:
1. never make 1b+ trade with a turk (not racist, just statistics)
2. fully son players or just strong players, likely wont scam you, but a guy who gets a single sox drop or a staller is 90% scam.
3. trades around 1.1b-1.4b~ without middle man are ok, you can easily make up for 400m lost gold with current economy and the other guy is more farked than you are.
4. always try to buy from uni members, even if someone offers lower price outside of uni.
5. use middle man + find a turk middle man (they exist).

I only bought stuff over 1bil from people I knew or friends of the people I know. I sold a nice nova+7 shield for 4bil. The guy bought pots for 3bil and then the shield for 1bil after that. It's a risk you take, but he was from my union. Don't think someone else would've done that.

you sold it early 110cap right? cuz nova+7 for 4b is too expensive now. I had a friend who is trying to sell his nova+8 shield for 2.3bil, is it worth to buy?

Hmm I sold it fairly at the start yeah, bought it clean for 1.8bil from a friend. If you have that kind of money to spend on it go for it, but atleast make it +9 with an advanced. On the other hand, if you're not a s/s or blader maybe it's not of that much use to you.

I would also sell/buy to/from well known players in the server. Players who have a rep of not scamming etc. But yeah overall I rather stick to people I know.

Also you can now stall for 10bil/trade for 1bil IIRC. In ksro that is.

I have built a very good rep in AEGE. I won't do a deal if I don't trust a person but a majority of the time buyers AND sellers put their trust in me. I'll buy the nova item for a bill and THEN I'll give them the rest.

Even rival unions/guilds who hate my guts do business with me and I am often used as a middleman for other ppls deals.

Scamming has increased ALOT in my server so you really have to be careful.

Have you guys noticed that after a scammer gets exposed that char all of a sudden gets a "new owner"? It happens almost every week in AEGE. Scammer chars who have been globaled about somehow get sold and new owner swears he is not a scammer.

The really sad thing is that ppl actually fall for this.

I would sell for a few bullion, i wouldn't buy. I'm a very untrusting person in SRO. The amount of globals I see with "scammer" in it is kinda scary to think about.
