A discussion worthy of Silo. (TimeTravel via Death)

Post by Goseki »

So I had this random idea pop into my head earlier today. Thought I'd share it with you guys :)

Would like your input on this Silo.

My theory is based on 2 keys.

Key 1:
So one of the big difficulties with timetravel is that things with mass can't withstand the pressures of going the speed of light. Just look at what happens with black holes. Time, space distortion, going the speed of light having possible breakdown on the molecular level.

Key 2:
Ghost reports, especially those from multiple people over different time always have these ghostly figures as having the exact same appearance.

So what about the dead. What if when we die we lose our physical and psychological/spiritual bonds are severed. Things without mass should have no problem being accelerated beyond the speed of light. Without mass, the laws of physics would no longer apply. Without mass, time would cease to exist. Nothing is changing for you. So what if that is the secret. When one is dead and massless, one is able to enter a whole new realm. A realm of the dead where new laws of physics apply now.

Death is often described as entering a new afterlife, a new plane of life. Even the Quran mentions the different planes of existance. With God being on the highest plane where a day passes for every 1000 years on earth. That is VERY possible when one is travelling at a faster speed. Theory of Relativity.

Anyways, I'm trying to find the flaw in this logic. Seems totally plausible to me. We can't interact with massless objects such as dark matter, so who knows what ability things have when they are massless. What if the ghost apparition are a result of some weird technological ability the dead have discovered over in their reality.

Just seems like an excuse for people to say that god can fix our problems because he has one day to solve 1000 years worth of problems

I'd like to point out that dark matter has mass. If it had no mass, then it wouldn't account for the extra gravity in our universe. Dark matter is weakly interacting. It's different from massless.

Oo Something has to have zero mass to travel the speed of light? I thought they already proved sunshine has mass? :?

I kinda :palm: at this thread like most NS threads.

I have no idea, I'm just pointing out that dark matter has mass (or at least it's supposed to).

OK so dark matter has mass, but interacts differently than normal matter. Maybe massless objects would exist on an entirely different plane and can't be detected by conventional means yet.

Also, light consists of particles, but what about faster than light. In black holes, light can't escape and the very fabric of space, time, and molecules are shred to pieces. Even particles that normally exist together are torn apart, such as Hawkin's radiation.

When we die we leave nothing behind other than mass (our body). You'd first have to prove we have something that is massless and exists in the afterlife, which you cannot. The logic is based on a 'what if', but what if our spirit is simply in another plane with a very small mass (but not massless) and what if what if what if

Light has momentum and energy, but no mass.

You're just kinda making stuff up here, really. (Goseki)

troll answer to this topic:

Why don't you just die, find out, then contact Silo through Ouija Board and let him tell us the result.

Doron answer:
You, kind sir, have a very good point.
Enough about what's in your pants. Inlteresting theory, though there's no way to find out. unless you listen to the troll.

You are combining religion and physics in your theory which makes it invalid.

I'm trying to find the flaw in this logic.

This is the flaw, Every thought that has ever been thought, still exists. . .why?

1st law of thermodynamics, energy can not be creator or destroyed, only transferred.

Thoughts DO have energy this has been documented already, there for a thought can not be destroyed, and since all the bonds or whatever are based on thoughts, those can not be destroyed either.

Combine this with the fact that the attention to something focuses it into reality(double slit experiment) and you can infer that everything that has ever existed will always exist, forever.

the only thing you have to do is tune yourself to it, you do that by giving attention to it by observation(which is thought as well) and you will determine its existence.

So in essence, youre partly right, yes everything still exists, so the *dead* arent really dead, they still exist and if you focus on them long enough, or put enough thought to it without any contradicting thoughts (such as ghosts dont exists. . .yes beliefs are thoughts too) you will see ghosts.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

The first law of thermodynamics should be changed though, it SHOULD just say energy can not be destroyed, only created and transferred.

why? the universe is STILL expanding at a FASTER rate than in the big bang.

Also, the earth is expanding as well, also one more thing.

Molten lave becoming land. if you take a one pound rock and *destroy* it (i.e. split all of its atoms) the energy released would be equal to a few Hundred H bombs. of course this depends less about the mass of the object, more than the strength of the chemical bonds between a substances atoms (water having the strongest bonds but thats another story for another day)

there are thousands of active volcanoes spewing molten lava daily, further adding to the mass of the earth, hence the expansion (dont believe me? you dont have to, the sea floor volcanoes of eons past prove me right) now of course the lava comes from teh manel which is heated up by the core which is basically the nucleus of a star that has never been able to reach the 100 million degree mark of fusion needed to create a star (the closet planet to this is Jupiter. . .but different story different day) which would on the surface of things, prove that hey energy is being transferred. . .

Unfortunately this does not account for the rapid STILL expanding universe.

What does?

What would be the only source of energy that is constantly being created a new that have energetic value?

Thoughts. . .

the thing is, thoughts do need a BRAIN to be thought up.

Plants have thoughts, they feel pain, react to stimuli etc etc. . .

with humans thoughts are created so fast that the energy transferred from the food intake can not even come close to account for the amount of energy expended while thinking. and that's just accounting for the 10% of the brain power that we are actually using. . .

What am I getting at?

Being that thoughts are a source of unlimited energy, and new thoughts are being created all the time, as the universes expansion has not slowed down, it can be inferred that

THOUGHTS are expanding the universe. . .

no, better. . .

Thoughts are Creating the universe!

2.All idiots, after reading truth 1, will try it.
3.And discover that the first truth is a lie.
4.You're smiling now because you're an idiot.
5.You soon will forward this to another idiot.
6.There's still a stupid smile on your face.

Bananaman, I've heard this applied to cars... I've heard it applied to heating and air --Both of which I've worked on first hand-- but this is the first time I've ever seen someone try to explain ghost, death, and the expanding universe through thought with it. I think you may be smoking some of what Goseki got a hold of

So, If I read Bananaman's post right (sorry, was too lazy yesterday and had nothing better to do nao) you're just saying that..

we should live in a world where we can see our thoughts floating around? so actually we would have to live in a sort of ultimate Fantasia.

Sure, thoughts stay alive (I'm having the same thought every night^^) so that could be true, but knowing that creeps me out. what if someone were to catch them and learn all my deepests thoughts. all my pre-judgements, all my fantasies, all my stories, my movements, my pick-up moves.

that scares me. though it'd turn me on to find someone who already has that because i'd totally make out with myself.

Don't worry about any of this happening. Bananaman failed to give the 1st law. Energy cannot be destroyed or created ONLY transformed.

i just read the first post, anyways, you'd be very interested in studying scientific occultism (not sure if that's the name in english, rough translation from portuguese), also look teosophy up (once again, not sure bout the name in english)

It does make sense, it's just how our subconscious mind works.
