You know what a good pw is, is the id your school gives you. It's easy to remember and you need to know it for school (well msot of the time)

Mine is MC3434 (Its made up, but 2 letters and then 4 numbers)

The best way to make a very secure, but memorable password, is to use a visual algorithm. This is something that makes sense when you look at how your keyboard is set up. The algorithm you decide to use will be a pattern that a computer program will not "think" of.

For instance, let's say your name is Sam. You can easily make a 10-digit alphanumeric password in the following manner. First, we'll start by finding the locations of the letters S, A, M on a qwerty keyboard.

Next, think of some visual pattern that you can easily remember. In this case, let's move up from each letter and a bit to the left, following the natural shape of the keyboard in this example.

Now, if you can remember your name (I sure hope so), and if you can remember your algorithm (in this example, moving up and to the left), you can pretty easily remember this 10-digit alphanumeric password.

Of course, you do NOT want to use the password OR the algorithm from my example. Think of your own. Unfortunately silkroad only allows lower-case letters and numbers in passwords, but for another site, like your bank account, you can throw in upper-case letters and symbols simply by adding the "shift" key to part of your password. The password from the example, "sw2aq1mju7" could easily become "sw2aq1MJU&", ""sw2AQ!mju7", or "SW@aq1mju7".

I always put in an asymmetry or a glitch in the algorythm just because I can, and mine is 12 digits long. If I were hacked, I would bet my life savings that it was not by brute force.

Here is what i do to make my pass good and unique

.

Find some word that you can very easy remember. Then take 1 or 2 letters out. And after you remembered your word without those 1 or 2 letters, combine it with numbers. With that you can easily make one password, that most people would say it makes no sence at all. And of course it must be 12 letter/numbers long.
