I can't remember where I read this, but I remember reading an article one day that studied the effects of the Internet on our society. The basic idea for the study was that someone who suddenly lost access to the Internet who used it frequently won't be able to live their daily lives anything like they use to.
It found that social interaction declined by a lot, with so much focus being placed on popular media such as Twitter and Facebook, suddenly having those social streams evicted takes a huge blow to your ability to socialise. It also found that even simply daily tasks, like accessing train timetables and finding maps for locations became a real chore, as most people rely solely on the Internet as a medium for such information.
I'll do a bit of searching and try to dig up the source, I read this a long time ago and din't bookmark it. I'll post it if I can find it, it's a good read. Basically, I think your idea is very silly. What purpose is their to it? The Internet is a great communication medium both for socialising, gathering information and even acquiring or selling goods with maximised monetary gain. Why through such a powerful tool away simply because "you can"? -shrugs-
I can't go 1 day without the internet, it's not only essential for entertainment and school work, but it's literally my "drug."
And yes, I do get withdrawal syptoms when I'm away from my computer for long periods for time, i.e (random moments of frustration and increased aggravation. I'm sad :/
I need the Internet. I don't just use it for Gaming. I need it my daily news feed, updates from my social network, etc. I spend a good hour on MSN.com just to read the articles
Just as Heo, I can get pretty angry when I don't have access to my computer for a while. Kinda like when I sold my Desktop and had to wait 2 months for my next one.
