I'm a man that believes in God as well as science, there is no "vs" in there. I don't get why so much time is spent arguing the two, there is more to life than science.

Something that can be reproduced to produce a visible and recordable result each time on what we expect something to do. If the tests repeats itself it is respected as evidence and fact of something working in a certain order. Have you ever gone to school?

Well you're giving this forum undeniable evidence that you're uneducated. Evolution is studied over a long period of time, and changes in species are carried over from generation to generation via natural selection. The bad traits are left out while the good ones are passed on to the next. This does not necessarily mean that it happens in a short period of time.

It would take thousands/tens of thousands of years for there to be a drastic change from the characteristics of one animal to another. Going by how sedimentary rocks and fossils are found deep underground and measuring how old the earth's crust is scientists can determine how old those organisms are, this is only one of the many methods that the theory of evolution employs to better understand how today's animals are formed.

Simply saying put a mouse in a lab and wait for it to evolve is quite simply the most retarded statement I have ever heard, but then again my standards for religious people are set pretty low after participating in one these kind of threads.

However, saying it's solely human nature is quite simply a speculation. With no proof, one must assume that religion causes the problems, because that is the floating justification. With no other evidence first, one must look to the point that religion causes the fights, when people say, it's for x religion (bombing abortion clinics, middle east etc.).
Also, that wasn't my main argument. My main argument is that religion slows the progression of society by pretty much slowing scientific progression, and making so many people deny 'true' science, like evolution etc.

Yeah, when the flu changes (mutates) it's because the vaccine affects a certain strand. Certain flu particles or w/e you want me to call them don't have that strand. They reproduce. The flu is then largely composed of that strand the next year, because the vaccine didn't kill it.
Bacteria. Certain cleaners don't kill certain bacteria. The bacteria that aren't killed reproduce, they reproduce only the bacteria that doesn't get killed by the certain cleaners. That's a mutation. That's evolution to a minor degree. Imagine that over thousands of years. Also, bacteria/viruses etc. evolve fast b/c they reproduce very quickly.

Next you're going to tell me every school shooting or every convenience store ever robbed was because of some religion. You can't even tell me every war was about religion, and it isn't religion that causes one to start a war. It's human nature, we all have innate characteristics such as greed/anger/hatred/envy/vengeance and so on... Giving the scriptures may be a guide for some, but it isn't why they act such things out.

Other than that... the human factor is what is causing the problems in science... scientist are lying and cheating to get their stuff published and what not. Also governments have affected science, giving out grants and rewards to people who research popular theory.

Like you said, it has to be a "visible" thing. I didn't see any direct visible evolution here beside a study of gene.
A painter may paint a paint A and a paint B. A and B may share the same similitude, because it's drawn by the same person and use the same style. You can't say that A evolve from B. But you can say that A and B are created by the same person/designer ie God

It doesn't take religion for someone to be against abortion... There are some people that just believe you shouldn't take the life of an unborn baby. As far as I know there have only been around 9 or so people killed in these bombings since people have been doing abortions in the US, so you're talking it up. Anyways, look at Ted Kaczynski, he wasn't religious or at least he didn't have a religion driving his agenda.

For the many people saying religion is idiotic or gives false hope. False hope is something everyone goes through idc who you are. Religion is a comfort for more people than it is something to follow. When someone in your family dies who you love, who brings science into the equation saying oh well their gonna be decomposed by worms and several microorganisms and since we're living in say africa their grave might be robbed. Errmm ya i doubt thatll happen. Most people say "they're in a better place" because one its comforting and two some people believe that.

Religion is something that gets people through the hard times, not saying its something to be relied on. It helps people through hardships and even when a person has nothing and has hit absolutly rock bottom, their religion is still there and can still comfort them and atleast give them a second of relief even if its false hope.
