breaking in shoes

Post by Jstar1 »

are you supposed to break into new shoes or are shoes supposed to feel comfortable from the very beginning? because if my feet don't stop hurting from wearing these new shoes I got, then I might as well just have burned $40 with a lighter.

It might get better. Shoes can adapt to your foot after a while.

new shoes tend to need to be wore in, softens the material and helps shape it better to your feet, a week of wearing them will do the trick just bite your lip if it hurts that bad

depends on what kind of shoes you need and how old you are.
if they are for casual wear, a size bigger is the easiest way to avoid that.
having them tight as possible isn't very comfortable and can cause problems.
sport: some find form easier after you moisten them with water the first couple of days

My shoes are always annoying to wear when I first wear them, but after a week or 2 they are fine.

If we are talking running shoes, than they should be nice from the get-go. But regular shoes do seem to tend to be a bit stiff at first. Like said before, they should move more towards your liking after a week +. If you find them unbearable, get a Dr. Scholes insole or w.e they are, actually insanely comfortable haha and less than $10 USD.

It also depends on the brand. Some brands are wider some arr more narrow. Some pinch the toes some don't. If it doesn't get better soon don't worry eventually you will get used to it or thy will actually get better. Oh and did you buy them online because if you did make sure you check the size because I have bought shoes online that were the wrong size.

Evil Venom speaks the truth! I love circa's, but I find that they are just a tad narrower than other brands, especially right around my toes. Just something to keep in mind when shopping next time

I know of breaking in shoes...but it should never hurt..

I mean depending on your pain threshold I guess it could a bit, but nothing much. Sounds like they're too small or awkwardly shaped.

Hurt? I bought new shoes last week, they are awesome. (design etc) but it was kinda annoying cause when i walk with them it tend to slip away from my feet and it was annoying to walk with.
But after a while, the next day it was like wearing my old shoes... i just got used. You just need time.

I cycle through a bunch of shoes so they don't really wear in.

Wearing in is comfortable but depending on the shoe, sometimes it makes them look like shit afterwards.

I just get a shoe size bigger for the ones I wear for extended periods (like at work). After a couple hours my feet swell a bit so it fits good.
