The two email accounts that I use for banking was hacked recently. Luckily I was online when I noticed all the info changed. I logged the ass's IP. Is there someone I can report this to? If it's a home IP address, that person should be fined or something.

Yea ISP's are a big help nowadays, atleast in US, but they might need extra convincing since they can't just give info to anyone. So you might want to go to your local police station and tell them what happened and have them call.

Yea just give them the ip and tell them who the isp provider for the ip is (if you can get it) and ask them to call. The guy should get in trouble.

Yeah a while ago some guy from China got on my account somehow. I was actually checking my email when it happened so I disconnected the person out of my account (gmail also lets you do that if the person is still on your account) and changed the pw.

Btw if you want to get your own sweet revenge, just post the ip on one of those hacking sites, that guy will be screwed. I remember a friend of mine did that a while ago.

Reported, changed all passwords. Nothing else really happened. Haven't noticed any changes or missing money so seems like it's all good.

A lot of websites log IP addresses now to help tackle hacking. My bank does so, and many other sites do such as Premium Rapidshare accounts.

And tell your bank too! Change your bank email info, but let them know about the hack.
