Walking; barefoot.

I've been walking barefoot for a while now(personal choice, before I read about any health-implications) because I find it incredibly comfortable. The worse injury I've had is a burning sensation or a chilly floor.

Crazy as it may sound, how often(if at any time) do you carry yourself barefoot? If so, do you wander into public places like the mall, or the grocery store?

uh walking barefoot in public places is incredibly bad for your health. Not only does your chances of stepping on something sharp/get a splinter go up by 10000000%, the germs that you drag up under your foot..

I always walk barefoot at home, in my garden, and at the camping-site.

It will hurt if you walk for very long periods barefoot. I destroyed my feet just by walking around my neighborhood(blisters from the friction of the asphalt/concrete). Continuously damaging your feet like that will eventually lead to thick skin on the bottom of your foot, so it works out over time.

Wroncg, Watch Discovery channel a show called Dual Survival.
One of the main guys has gone barefoot for over 20 years. He survived in the mountains, glaciers, Forrest, and sea without wearing shoes.
Your feet get healthier if you go barefoot because they adapt and it trains them to retain heat etc etc

Indeed, you'll get blisters, etc. for the first couple of weeks. I used to walk barefoot around DR when I was little, so the bottom of my feet are already adapted. The only setback I find with being barefoot is the habit of washing my feet every now and then.

Im barefoot alot of the time, walk around my yard, gravel drive way, street. Usually unless I got somewhere to go or something to do I don't use shows unless I need to.

Also I'd bet that anyone going a year or so, maybe not even that much, especially in moutains or w/e prolly has built in shoes lol.

I only wear shoes if I go out of the house (away, in the garden I'll just go without). I do wear socks in the winter etc but if it gets warmer I walk barefoot at home too.

it is better to go barefoot. it strengthens your arch, you will eventually become flat footed from that though.

Walking barefoot is just healthy for your feet, if you look at my dads feet who wears his shoes all day, you will see that they smell very bad and that the ugly FUNGI are starting to take over!! xD

Pretty much any time I CAN go barefoot, I do. By that I mean any time I'm not in work, at the grocery store, at a restaurant.

It's just easier to not throw shoes on and instead just walk out wherever you're going. Driving barefoot is hard though.

Dislike barefoot
I don't even like sandals really..
I'd go with shoes all day long if I could but my mom would rage at shoes inside house.

^This made me hungry.

When I was little my friends and I would play cops and robbers barefoot all over the salvage yard... Never really got seriously hurt, foot wise either. Barefoot FTW!

Exactly...after a while, you'll be walking barefoot on a hot beach while everyone else is skipping around. :sohappy:
