I don't know why Belgium is known for it's waffles in America, they are great but no one ever talks about them.
We have some of the best cooks in Belgium and almost every household knows how to cook properly.
(We invented the french fries!!! and we also make the best fries...) Our beer has also been called as the best beer in the world by the national jury.
It's sad that foreigners are moving in large groups to Belgium to enjoy our health care and redundancy payment, they sometimes earn more than the hard working natives just by sitting on their lame arses...

Economists have calculated that without those foreigners and the 'Walen' (the french part of Belgium) we would be one of the richest countries in the world :S

In the US there isn't exactly a culture. I guess you could say hamburgers and fries etc. are "American" food, in which case fast food would be american restaurants = Yes its easy to start them here. Diners are also popular in the older cities in boston. I only know one american restaurant thats not a fast food (Hard Rock)

Lol...seriously? Theres a shit load of American restaurants, specially here, and its not fast food or burger, more pit BBQ places here than burger joints put together.

Might be just here then o.O i live in a suburb of DC so theres a lot of different people here. There are lots of chinese/indian/korean/italian/thai/vietnamese, even australian restaurants/buffets around here. theres a Red Lobster here, but idk if you can consider that american food.

And laugh at the f@gs who say america has no culture. Guess what, we've been around for 250 years..and europe? like 3000 years of recorded history. I think its pretty obvious that europe has had more time to develop its own specific cultures/customs. And the fact that america is a mix of races speaks for itself, its just a hodgepodge of people..europeans are pretty homogeneous in their own specific countries.

The US has no specific cultutre, its a melting pot of loads of other cultures. theres sunday nights football though

What is so 'French' that it attracts so many tourists? People visit France and go see Paris, sure, but the bulk of tourism is just people laying in the sun. It's just convenient for people to go there. It's not like people can look at the eiffel tower and eat escargots for two straight weeks.
The Netherlands gets a lot of day-weekend tourists from Germany to go to the beaches, and Amsterdam is a great city for a lot of people too. Is there some kind of magic word that I should use to describe this? You can't capture any culture in like a few words to describe what it's like there and why people should go there. But here's an attempt in a lot of words: beautiful architecture, Amsterdam, old buildings, rich history, Rembrandt, van Gogh (and a million others), tulips, mills, 'dikes' (if you're so insistent on our water management being a tourist attraction), waddeneilanden, wadlopen, hunnebedden, cheese(factories), convenience in the way that like 10 great cities are within 30 min distance of each other.
You have to realize the Netherlands also isn't a place where people go for 2 weeks. Europe is a relatively small place. The Netherlands is part of a lot of countries that people visit in one go.

What's Dutch that attracts tourists... You're studying tourism and living in the Netherlands, right?

Europe basically is one big country, you can go wherever you want. If you don't have the money to move to another country in the EU, you'd be grasping for straws in the Netherlands too.

You pay exactly the same amount of study costs in any other EU country, rent is cheaper, you will get a higher scholarship. Stop making excuses, start doing what you really want. (That is, if it really is what you want, because nothing is keeping anyone down as a Dutch citizen who wants to move to another EU country)
Cmon, grow some balls. VOC all the way baby. No one ever got anywhere by saying he got no money and that their culture sucks, that there's too many restaurants already out there or too many ideas already exploited. Go chase your dreams, don't talk about how it's hard to get there.

You can barely keep Belgium or Spain together, how are you going to unify the whole continent as one country? What about officials? How will the Polish deal with having a Russian president?

Have you been to Europe? You can virtually drive 30 minutes in any direction in feel like you're in a different country.

Have you visited Catalonia? Been to Bretagne and Marseille?

i hope you have a clear view of the differences between europe
and asia and america lol. no offense but to me it all sounds a
bit naive. even going on a holiday there won't give you a proper
comparison.

health care.. idk to me migrating to asia or america isn't as

People hoping to have a "better life" if they move are most of the time misses information. I know lots of people from my home country(Morroco) that moved to countries like the states or Holland thinking they'll find a better life. Some are desperate to leave the country like my uncle and will use illegal ways ( My uncle jumped from a boat going to Spain when he saw the cops, be broke his legs and got caught). All that and they end up living in a small apartment with a mediocre job.

"Real American food" is not my fav.

I have a thing that I just start puking if something has bones on/in it and visible lines of fat. Spareribs, chicken wings/legs, a whole damn thanks giving turkey..

I can't eat those.. blech..

And BBQ'ing makes me sick too.. I was throwing up for an hour straight after one (actually well prepared) hamburger. But I just get sick from BBQ'ing.
