My name!

ok so my name is pro as you can gather. It's a strong, authentic male Dutch name and there's no better name. However, real names require real skills to pronounce, and through experience I've learned that pretty much no one outside of Dutch speaking countries can pronounce my name.
In the end I am always called 'Wooter' or 'Walter'. Now 'Walter' is German, and I can't have a German name, so that's out. I also think of a nerd when I hear that name. Wooter is just plain retarded, so that's out too.

So I was thinking of like adopting a nickname for when I go to Norway (already went to Norway, 'Wouter' can't be pronounced there either) but I can't really think of one. I'm also not really used to the idea.
I don't want to reinvent myself into a douche with a 'flashy' name, but I just want something that I don't have to repeat 5 times and in the end still end up with Walter/Wooter/Fouter (although if you can get 'Fouter' that's already pretty pro)
All I could come up with was 'Walt' (yeah, got it from Lost ) it's not too bad and I don't think it will pose a problem. What do you guys think?

Always thought it was "WOW-ter", just cause that sounds awesome. But if it's a problem that's annoying enough, just introduce yourself with your nickname, thousands of asians are doing it everyday.

Well to be honest I haven't met that many Germans, but they end up with Walter. Wouter is the Dutch version of Walter so I guess it's a bit logical for the Germans to say Walter.
The fact that you guys can't pronounce my name only reinforces my idea to use another name. Or maybe someone can? Record yourself trying to say it

Try introducing yourself without saying it in a Dutch accent (so it sounds like Wowter). It's not perfect, but it's better than Walter.
