Re: Any SRFers in Melbourne?
Ok, so kinda off topic, but i was just browsing through the Customs list, since i know that Aussie has the worlds strictest customs, and i came accross this, and just laughed... Like. Really Australia.. Really?
Under Restricted goods (I.e you need a Permit to bring in)
Erasers - novelty (restricted import)
Description:
Erasers resembling food in scent or appearance.
Permits issued by:
Minister for Home Affairs
Really?

Re: Any SRFers in Melbourne?
I once had a LAN with some people from my Call of Duty 1 clan, but we were like 'e-friends' for ~2 years before we met. Wasn't really awkward at all.
But idk, I wouldn't really want to randomly meet up with some SRF people just because we go to the same website.

Re: Any SRFers in Melbourne?
Ah yes, visit the beating heart of Holland... Drenthe! (sarcasm
)
But there's a difference, like you, cin and RuYi I guess you guys are friends/ know each other pretty well seeing as you guys get to chill in the secretive VIP-SRF admin lounge together. Just posting a message like 'hey I'm in Melbourne, let's go BBQ' is a bit different and you could basically go to the beach and ask the same thing to a complete stranger. That's what I meant.

Re: Any SRFers in Melbourne?
Melbourne? Pity your not visiting Sydney, I would of been more than up for it.
As a bit of a side note, I honestly don't understand why people are so afraid to meet up with someone they know online. What's the big deal? Sure, you don't know them in person. But when I meet strangers/friends of friends/talk to random's at the pub it's the same thing. They all could be serial killers or rapists, you just don't know. But that doesn't mean you shouldn't do it either. It's just talking to someone who haven't talked to before. In fact, it's even easier than talking to random's as you have a brief chatting history and such. And I find it much easier to trust someone who I have talked to over an extended period of time through the internet a lot more than some of the random people I meet through pure chance on the streets.
Over the years I've meet too many people I know online, be it from games or facebook, for me to count. A few people I met up with turned into girlfriends over time (they never worked out, distance sucks) and currently my best friend I met online, she only likes about 30 minutes away from me. Communications is an amazing thing, embrace it children!
In other news, have fun in Melbourne. Up here in Sydney we are having a massive cold spell and considering Melbourne has always been colder than Sydney, your going to want to bring a lot of jackets. Seriously >_>
