I'm not saying that SRO isn't a good game. I think it is great, but it has three skills; hunter, thief, and merchant. Runescape has a million. Runecape is anything but "up and coming", having been around for about 6 years. I've played it for almost 5, and I have no plans of hanging it up any time soon.
Silkroad is fairly new, so I am going to stick with it to see how it develops. Runescape was pretty simple when it first came out, and it grew into something awesome. I think SRO can do the same. You get the same game without paying monthly, which is a lot more than can be said for RS.

I was wondering if you were the same Chaud as the one I knew. The internet must not be as big as I thought. Either that or we gamers just think alike. I plan on playing this and RS, especially since I can't get on SRO sometimes.

A model T Ford was good in it's day, but ppl arent flocking to the dealerships to buy one in 2006. In it's day, RS was fine, but games have moved on. RS is a dinosaur and as a museum piece to stare at and think "We've come a long way baby", its great. But to actually PLAY it? That's gotta be a joke....

I actually liked grinding way better on RS than SRO so far. It was much easier to see all the monsters and move/pick up stuff. I felt like I had a mych better sense of control

RS does have a much better user community. No real foreigners that don't understand english. People don't ccf. People have real informative helpful userbased fansites...

I do. No matter how fun a game is, its not worth playing if the graphics blow.
If RS had sro like graphics, everyone would be playing it.
i was a 117 combat (126 max) who had a yellow party hat, 3 santas, mask set and other rares and had a total net worth of about 400mil in todays standards i quit for sro and let a "friend" use the acount after about 5 months he stripped the account and changed the pass. so im never playing rs again i guess.
rs - 7$ a month for members..cant buy "silk" or get premium items
rs - MUCH more content
rs - weekly updates that were actualy good
rs - pvp system with dropped goods and knowing risks better than sro
rs - items have set values no variables in stats to make 1 item worth 100k gold rather than 10mil
rs - much easier to sell and buy things (their forums - godly compared to sro)
rs - rankings
rs - "rare" items that were fun to collect and see their value rise with demand (santa items in sro will be like that soon, i have 16 santa items)
rs - HUGE amount of players who play u can access any server to play
rs - no bots (leave out auto mine)
rs - drop rate = much better (and the item that drops actualy looks like the item it is instead of a red box all the time :p
rs - if you want to make money u can doing many things..u dont have to rely on trading non stop or getting a lucky som drop

u gotta admit man..seeing a abby whip on the ground or a dragon pl8 leg ...and it actualy looks like it..is cool instead of seeing that same red box ..thats one thing i miss..and prices dont really lower ..so many people play so theres always demand...dragon long for instance still 90k gold down from 100k a year ago..abby whip 2.2mil down from 3.5m a year ago u dont have to grind to get money u can fish fletch craft runecraft merchant ..in sro its eitehr get a really lucky som or trade allot merchanting takes a day in a stall to sell a few items
