Yup,been following GW2Guru since August09 (and GW1Guru since April06 ;p ),this game will be awesome. Introducing the amazing GuildWars world into a MMORPG format and adding brand new mechanics other MMOs don't have. I mean, being able to "combo" you skills with your allies?FREAKING AWESOME. (Ex: If your friend uses Firewall,if you throw arrows through the wall you're arrows will become burning arrows)

GW2/GW1 is the only game that can give me high blood pressure. Every time a Trailer is released I go crazy.Also the recent Elementalist class information got me even crazier GuildWars is the best game,and GuildWars 2 won't dissapoint. Especially because it will have an MMO format , even more "gamers" will be interested.

Yea, the new skill system seems really cool. I'm still a little unsure about the whole weapon determining your skills part though.

Since I've played WoW, I enjoy PvE boss fights more than PvP. If GW2 has good strong Boss Fight, dungeon raiding I'll give it a go, in not will pass.

From what I heard, they will be adding a lot of PvE content. Not only like dungeons and raids, but other things like protecting towns and outpost from hordes of invaders and things like that.

And lets not forget World vs World(WvW)in the Mist, GW2's casual PvP. Basically you can join any world,and you PvP on HUGE maps with multiple goals,like capturing "X",sieging Castles,etc. If the world you happen to play on wins,you get some "bonus"

Fun thing is anyone can join,even if your a low level you'll get boosted to max stats

Oh and PvE wise,you get to have your own story. When creating a character you must choose a background which will your choices in the future.
Charr: Ash Legion,Blood Legion or Iron Legion.
Sylvari: Dawn(Spring),Day(Summer),Twilight(Autumn) and Night(Winter)
Norn: Bear Spirit,Raven Spirit,Snow Leopard Spirit and Wolf Spirit.
Human: Canthan,Elonian,Ascalonian or Krytan.
Asura: College of Dynamics,College of Statics and College of Synergetics.

Other good thing is this time,your race will have to get rid of their own problems before taking on the world thread. Basically the story should go like "Racial Problems" --> "Meeting up with the other races" --> Orrian Undeads land --> Zhaitan.

Races Internal Problems;
Sylvari: Nightmare Court (Sylvaris that rejected the Ventari Tablet,kinda like the bible of Sylvaris. While the Sylvaris follow the Dream, the Nightmare Court follows the Nightmare)
Norn: Sons of Svanir (Svanir is the Norn turned into the Nornbear in GW1)
Humans : Unknown yet except for the few Charrs rebellion.
Asura: The Inquest ( TL;DR: A group of mad scientist)
Charr: The Flame Legion ( The Charrs that follow the "False Gods" and the Shamans just like in GW1)

No I am not implying that GW is a bad game, I just say that just being able to see other people by going outside the town is by being in a party is rather dull and boring. But glad to see that they wont make it like that in GW2.

Of course they'll switch. GuildWars is serious buisness,back then WoW & GW where big competitor in the Online RPG market,the game was a big name. I'm happy NCSoft dosn't have too much of a big influence on A.Net

Only thing I didn't appreciate from GW is that I never got to play "competetive GvG" which is suppose to be the funnest part of GW

oh yeah, GVG was awesome! thats all I played really, I did pve when we weren't gvging, it was pretty fun! I was in a top 20 gvg guild for a while before the leader raged on everyone and everyone left lol we even got silver capes from a tournament waaay back in the day

I agree somewhat with McNugget dude (sorry forgot the whole name) in that with PVP it basically became he who used the most overpowered build wins

BUT those people STILL had to have SOME sort of skill, and Izzy (the ONE guy in charge of all like 16000 skills in the game) kept trying to make changes and balance the game pvp wise

BUT still the only people who were really annoyed were the people who were like in the top 100-200 gvg guilds, as they always complained that they got rolled because of the imba build or whatever, when really SKILL goes a LONG way in gvg pvp even when fighting builds that are imba, you just have to ...have the skill. . . .

One example I can remember as its been like what over two years lol was the searing flames bs and EW found a way around that I forgot how I think it was with one of the ele enchants but I forgot what it was, and effectively killed it before izzy had to do anything to nerf it.

so yeah it had its issues but those issues were FAR better than say 99% of the games out there. And yes there were LOTS of PVE guilds out there, I made three characters, one in a pve guild, one in my top 20 gvg guild, and one in a noobie top 100-200 gvg guild so yeah I had a blast and had NO problem with it. The only reason why I stopped playing was I couldn't hardcore it anymore and had moved to another country. . .(see below my avatar)

Its a shame you couldnt enjoy it but the things you mentioned as reasons WHY you couldnt enjoy it arent really valid excuses imo, since there were Numerous ways around it. . . .that and gvg at high lvl isnt cookie cutter builds, . . .its kind of hard to explain but at high lvl gvg a lot of strategy goes into running certain builds, depending on your opponents play style, location, etc. . .usually when people rant on the *cookie cutter* bs they aren't really that good in gvg to know what the heck is going on, but instead just decide to parrot what someone else said, who probably got owned and doesn't want to blame his lack of skill for it and think they know everything.


Anyway Im saving my money for guild wars 2, once they announce the release date, Im going to get a new computer JUST to play this game again, new gaming mouse, gaming chair headset etc. . .its going to be a blast!

Edit: I just remembered, that skill was mist form (the one that made searing flames useless)

Well I didn't quite understand what you mean,but here are 2 answers

As if GW2 will be different that GW1? Well then you might be dissapointed.
Even though it will still have the "Smart/Complex Skill system" it will be quite different.First of all you'll have 10 Skills. As stated above,your first 5 Skills are choosed by the Weapon you are wielding.Which means there will be even more skill builds than GW1 because of the endless possibilities. You can switch weapon in the middle of a fight and get a brand new set of 5 skills. Note though that an Elementalist+Sword will have different first 5 skills than a Necromancer+Sword. Then you get a Healing Dedicated Slot,an Racial/Elite Slot and 3 Normal Skills.

Now if you meant if GW1 itself will change once GW2 is released. Only thing I know is that they will keep the servers up.Probably no updates though.
