At the cap; str archers are best in...

I know that archers are at the weak end of the SRO spectrum but are they effective at all?

At the cap, can lvl 70 archers kill glaivers/bladers?

Can archers only really kill when they hit their crits? and nothing else?

Farmed archers eat nukers for breakfast. They are also good in group fights.

Hmmm… DarkJackal doesn’t look weak at all. So I guess that’s your example of bows actually doing well at 70.

There should have been an “WTFBBQ” option in the poll.. Would’ve voted on that >.<

Unless they got distance in pvp there crap, pure str bladers/glavie beat them pure int at close contact beat them go glavie thats better....there are a few rare occasions where some archers can do the above but iv only seen dj and a few others do it

hmm well that's his opinion, he's allowed to have one. Lot's of people go nuker nowadays, it's getting though to level at some places. even for nukers

hmm well that's his opinion, he's allowed to have one. Lot's of people go nuker nowadays, it's getting though to level at some places. even for nukers

back to the topic, archer need really high crit at the cap and really high dmg to kill other str build chars. but i suppose any char with any build with a really good equipments will own,haha

Wow i'm really reconsidering bein aeither a blade or glavier now. But in a way its not an option because of how much time its gonna cost me, as well as money.

Bows are still fun to me even in 5x.

But there were hella instances where I would get rocked by a blader /glavier 3-4 lvls below me.

The only time I would actually kill one is if I sniped them out from the bushes while jobbing lol.

STR characters die to spike damage, i.e. big crits. Slow and steady does not win the race when all you're doing is breaking even with his autopot. A blader who could tank four glaivers probably can't tank three glaivers and one archer. Archers are a lot like nukers, but their attacks are slower, so they get more HP. They take more alertness and creativity to play than a glaiver or blader (unless of course you have the advantage in skills/level/equips). They are good at group fights and unique hunting, less good at 1v1 and high level grinding. It's a fair trade.

Like Hellsharpt likes to say: Most PVP aren't even fair enough to begin with. So don't fret about staying an archer.

I've always been archer and don't even bother with other builds, yesterday I tried playing my friend's character (glaive/spear) and gosh, I was gonna die at how slow it was for me to kill mobs. XD

It's cave, he's barely under level 64, not much of a difference. Besides, protector, AND dark isn't buffed.

Uhh im not saying im stronger then zapdos, but last time I fought him he couldnt kill me, was during a job war something or other w/e, anywa, I duno whats up or how it works, but on ints I get less dmg then I do on str chars >_>, on lvl 70 str I get 7500-8500 crits with devil arrow, all I have is a +5 bow ;p, no sos *cough*, and does anyone know what lvl duck_hand is or if hes pure str, becaue the other day hunting in dead ravine I hit him for 9500, I know hes 66+. I would really like to see what dmg I would get with a sos though lol. With a zerk devil arrow crit I can 1 shot lvl 70 str chars too lol, ask nightbloom xP.

Oh and I am finaly starting to lvl my def buffs, so no more lvl 1 book 2 lol, i'm just getting harder to kill... slowly

No, -_-, the only bladers that have ever killed me are the ones with sos +7-9 blades, otherwise its either me ignoring and just tanking them or a pot match, I still stand by my statement about how no blader has killed me(cept like I said before the sos +7-9 ones -_-), and I cant kill them either, I hit them maybe 3 times, if theres no block ill get knocked down and they pot to full.

I thought me being sp farmed would have a bit of an edge. I can basically 0 gap all the way to 70 with the skills i need with 5k sp left over.. granted i dont take any quests along the way. But at most i can kill a glavier, granted they dont stun. But on a blader.. no deal.

Gotta love the alchemy on how archers' bread and butter are cut in half by the "CRIT" ratio on shields..

And the one thing we did have that helped a lot- ice with stopping/slowing them down isn't nearly what it use to be,about everyone high lvl is immune.

I'm assuming you're new to the game. Archers will never beat a nuker, any farmed archers can hit me for 30 min and won't kill. With SOS bow.
They're strong enough to kill the bad pure int players. You shouldn't throw comments out like that.

lol right, in a fight with a legit archer and legit nuker, the nuker will die pretty fast.

I mean the only ints I have killed in a few shots are those form NIKE, and the botting union, but they hjave full sos +5+ gears, and sos +5-7 weapons/shield, of course they arent gonna die.

"Archers will never beat a nuker" is so far form true...
