Nuker with Weapon skills?

Post by zaets1 »

Hi, Im new to the forums and new to the Chinese race. I've played every Euro class and went with Rogue/Cleric. Now I wanted to try out the chinese race and decided to make a full int nuker.
After looking at many guides on this forum they all say get either Bicheon or Heuksal weapon tree with force skills(not force mastery, force skills like fire/light/cold). Now I am confused as those are weapon skills and they do physical based damage right? So why would a nuker need them. Can't I just do Fire/Light/Cold for full nukes or I need a weapon mastery? And I do not do any PvPing/Jobbing only CTF and grinding.

Like I said I am new to the chinese race and I don't know squat about them. They confuse me with all their skill possibilities :?

Full Int Nuker, I recommend Light / Fire Trees.
Get cold up as well to lvl 20 for at least the first shield.

IMO a weapon mastery is needed, what are you going to grind with from lvl 1 to 30?

True, I'd take 1 to 30, but be prepared to do Cursed heart quests later. It's not really useful after lvl 30. If you try to take on someone with weapon skills as a Pure Int, your dead.

Have you ever played a pure INT? You need weapon skills to win.

Because you still have a physical balance and mag + phy contribute to skill damage. Weapon skills are extremely important for disabling your enemy during pvp and for bicheon, applying awesome debuffs: stun, fear, impo, bleed, division.

110 Bicheon / 110 Fire / 110 Cold

Shield + fire buff + cold buff + cold passive = massive defense. Fire shield for immunity, both fire/ice wall, numerous nukes.

Stronger fire nukes make up for the lose of the piercing force buff in light. Speed potions for speed.. you lose a little parry.

From 1 - 30 i am going to get power leveled by a guild mate.

So for grinding 30 + its better to use weapon skills as a nuker or the nukes? Because I was told that Fire/light/cold is a good build for PvE and Plvling others.

this is sooo wrong

nothing makes up for losing 20%+ increase to magic damage for an int.. nothing

Immunity to Ice, pretty buffs that you can see, bad-ass blue fire wall, and nukes that look different.

Nothing sucks more than playing for 120 lvls with the SAME EXACT NUKE recolored 2.5 times. Green/yellow, Blue, blue/white. Now that's visually stimulating.

Fire nukes get a ball of fire, a spiral firewave, a meteor explosion from the sky, and a volcanic eruption.

Hell, mobs such as niya mage have better light nukes.

Attk power-wise, light is better. But If I REALLY wanted attk power and same nukes, I'd just go wizard.

question... i've been 100 light/force/ice till lvl 100 and i just got tired of Force, i don't say it sux, cause i can nuke 30k + nukes on str chars, but when i fight an euro if its a cleric, and we all know that 85% of euros are cleric, i will always loose cause of Holy Spell...

Now here is my question, if i am lvl 100 and from lvl 1 to 40 i added 1 point to STR and then 40+ full int, is it necessary for a hybrid S/S to max all Bicheon skills? for example chains, with skill not being maxed u can already put Division, Bleed. I want to know so i wont waste Skill Points if i don't need to max it.

Thanks in advance.

ps: and i got a nova sword too, if that helps in anything..

I don't know if your sig is current or not, but if it is..

I'm level 104, I play the build I described, I've played an int nuker since the beginning of 80 cap.

Another interesting build to preserve immunity: 110 Bich, 110 Light, 99 Cold, 11 fire. You'll need badass jewels.

Yes, max all. Why? For better effect. You need bigger debuff lvl to do more dmg.
If you have all skills on lvl 1, then even a nova sword won't help you.

Putting 10d bleed on a 11d opponent will take you about 15-30 secs of spamming it before it actually works.

Putting 9d bleed on a 11d opponent will take up about half ur snow shield before it actually works. Maybe even all of it.

the best thing about this game is its balance
if you choose fire-light-cold you lose some benefits from weapon skills but you get others , and vice versa
it depends on what you want
Goseki said that he doesn't like the light nukes because they all look the same , he like visual effects more than actual char. power
for me i liked playing with light\cold\bich , the cold imbue are just perfect for me , and the light speed and phantom are my air .. light nukes are so powerful , sword chains are great specially with cold imbue , ironwall shield always save my life againest str and KD\stab are so useful
if you replaced bich. with fire , you'll get more offense and less defense and more eye candy

I know the Lvl on the Status count, that's why i was saying for example on Smashing Sword Series BOok the Twin Energy Smash skill u have Bleed 11d on lvl 4 and above, if i keep it on lvl 4 i will still cause BLeed on opponent with 11d tier. Here comes my question, is it important for me being Hybrid Maxing that skill for example, or is it only for Bladers? cause lvl 4 and above only the Phy Dmg increases.

imo you should level these skills until they put statuses lv11, then not needed, maybe just for dmg but its not a big difference

maxed ice/fire/light is actually pretty good. You can do a lot of damage with maxed fire nukes + imbue, maxed dmg % from light, and have high defences from fire/ice as well as mana shield. If i recall there was a video of a 100 fire/light/ice char on cSRO and they were doing a ton of damage with just lion shouts. So if you are interested in a pure int without weapon skills i say go for it

Thanks for all the replies, they are very helpful. I decided to go with the Full Force build, Fire/Light/Cold for max dmg output for Plvl/Grinding and maybe PvP if it works.
