Lightning Archer

Post by Varan »

I'm pretty much new to the game so I just want some advice. Right now I'm a lvl 15 archer that puts sp's into Pacheon and Lightning. Up till now i got:

Pacheon lvl 12

lvl 3 Anti-Devil
lvl 2 Arrow Combo (2xonce)

Lightning lvl 11 (or 12 - dont remember)

lvl 3 imbue (thunder-something) (1st book)
lvl 2 Must-piercing force
lvl 1 grass walk

Force lvl 7

lvl 3 heal

I find this build pretty fun. The grass walk is very handy, the imbue is AoE (only 3 meters for now but still) and of course the must pierce force is always on. I think I don't need to explain the Pacheon skills. Frankly I made a mistake with the Force lvl 7 but anyway I use heal when I don't want to lose potions.
Questions:
-What does hitting ratio actually mean? It is provided by the hawk but does it mean i hit more often or I deal more damage? Is it worth it anyway?
-What would be good second magic tree: fire or ice? And what skills?
-Up till now, every lvl I distribute the pts like this: 2 str, 1 int. Is it alright for this build or not? Should I change it?
-I wear protector. I do think it is ok but maybe I would deal more with armor or garment?

I would be grateful for some answers and advices. If I made any mistakes according to skill names, sorry.

Stop lvling force.

1. Hit ratio = hit at the higher end of your dmg scale more often. All bows get it. Its a staple skill.
2. Fire, alot of people will come cry ice, but fire imbue = most dmg, fire provides mag def, something str needs, and fire shield, and phys dmg buff and passive.
3. If you will be serious about the game, take a good day or so and start over, only putting points into str. It wont make a huge difference, but you may notice it. It will be okay if you dont care about being perfect, but from now on, only str points.
4. Wear garms, less mp + faster move speed. You already have all the phys def you need.

Don't make hybrid bow, glaive, or blade. STR hybrids are a joke.

Thx for answering - this will help me a lot. Just one more question. Does it make sense to take the fire imbue? Or just skip it and take Flame-body widom etc.?

I think fire would be better, especially when you get to the caves, and dont want to agro a ton of mobs, wasting pots...Just pop off a regular arrow to splash with light later if you want to agro...
btw, Im not a str, and not a bow, so dont take everything I say to be true/right.

I agree with Chaud about the light thing.... its bad news for you as a bow user. Imagine trying to kill Isy and using light on your bow... no no no :banghead:
Besides fire has best dmg and as full str you can use the additional skills in the fire tree.

Why do people not like hybrid builds of any sort whatsoever? Maybe you've never encountered a well farmed Str or Int hybrid. Pure ints at my lvl are a joke to me. 1 antidevil crit kills them. I would say the most challenging build to beat are glaivers 1v1. The game is not designed to be played on a 1v1 basis, although people insist on 1v1. Every build has their weakness, who are you to decide his build? Let the person make up their own decision. Pure builds are pretty much cookiecutter builds. IMO, that is boring. Play what you like and I'll play what I like. I'm a str hybrid and I do just fine for myself.

Because hybrid int rocks. Hybrid str is a joke.
The crits are less, dmg less...for more mp?
I like seeing nuking str hybrids. They make me laugh. That and int hybrid bows.
