Your download speed will never be as high as your line sync speed. My friend gets around 4mb on Speedtest, but only downloads at around 400kb/s
Uhhhhh speedtest is measured in megaBITS whereas firefox shows megaBYTES. Your speedtest speed is really 2.2MB/sec on firefox =\
That's why your friend gets 400 KB/s (should be about 500 but eh..) 4mbits/8 = 5MB/s
Anyway I get 10mbits down which translates to about 1.25 MB/s, and 1 mbit up.

My best that I've every achieved was 3Mb/sec with University free web. At home I can download with a maximum of 1Mb/sec.

there is a difference between B and b, B means bytes and b means bits, 1B = 8bits
so 1mb/s = 1mbps = 1mbit/s

another test after changing my isp , and it can get more than 2 Mbps sometimes
by the way i've noticed that the speed gauge is 50 Mbps max
what's happening when you have more than 50 , does it explode?:P

This is mines....Not as fast like some of the ones I see here but I can at least say I work for my ISP so my internet cost is halved. I didn't went for an higher speed which is easy but it isn't really necessary for me. _________________________________________________
