Looking for movies
Hey guys. As of recently I've really been wanting to watch some sort of ancient war movie. Something along the lines of Red Cliff or Troy. So let me know of any good ones, thanks.

Re: Looking for movies
This is my favorite movie genre as well
Strange how all the titles seem to escape me right now. All I can think of is 'Jeanne d'Arc' (or Joan of Arc). I remember it to be a pretty epic movie.
I'm guessing you've already seen/heard of the previous mentioned movies, so I'm trying to think of some lesser known titles.
If you haven't really seen much of the 'classics', well then say so and we can bombard you with lists of Gladiator, Kingdom of Heaven, 300, Spartacus, Ben Hur etc
I can highly recommend the series Spartacus: Blood and Sand. Quick description would be 'Gladiator meets 300'. It's pretty brutal.
And idk if you're into it, but there's an interesting series by the BBC that chronicles the life of a few well known warlords in just an hour. It's called Heroes and Villains (youtube that + BBC and you will find it)
They're about Genghis Khan, Spartacus, Attila the Hun, Richard the Lionheart, 'The Shogun' and some others. Most of those heroes also have their own movies. For Genghis Khan there's 'Mongol' (quite a few others as well), for Spartacus there's 'Spartacus' (would not recommend the 2004 TV series as it's crap).
I've seen the Attila miniseries as well with Gerard Butler and it's pretty decent, nothing along the lines of Troy/Braveheart though. It's a TV miniseries after all.
If I think of something I will post it.

There was an awesome samurai movie out there about the 5(6?) kingdoms...
One of the war scenes it showed the mass archery and how all the arrows actually did block out the sun for a second
