i kind of lolled usually id need to argue my own points but in this case i just had to start the arguement and watch others argue it but alas i do need to add atleast one point to this. If as so clearly stated there is a game called football why name another game the same name? Football or soccer for you arrogant cunts came first so how did american football come to adopt the same name without just reason or cause seeing as the goal of the sport is more to carry the ball then kick it, if on the other hand you named it Rugby and renamed our european version i suppose id be more accepting that your american and your special much as someone with a mental disabilty is special (please note my generalisation is a joke but il carry on down this chain to finish it) but renaming our spore to soccer and yours the all mighty football dispite it having little to do with the feet is just pure illogic (again i know not all americans are the same accept the joke dont pound me with the same old shit iv got in the past such as im american but stil call it football or im american i done care about he sport but your wrong about us been special etc i already know so dont say it)

Americans call it football because back in the f*cking 1800's you never threw the ball.
the hikes were handoffs, but there was no forward pass and the most common way to score was to kick field goals with your FOOT. hence FOOTBALL.

it was only decades later that the forward pass was implemented. So today, we see a mixture of both running and passing, and the term football goes to sh!t (and enrages euro f@ggots )

anyway, back on topic.
No euro team will win because the World Cup isn't being held in Europe, and while EUFA is strong on home soil, they have never won outside of it. Therefore, it leaves the CONMEBOL wide open for the world cup. And those of you saying Spain, lol they always choke it's not even funny anymore. Their long resume of world titles include a UEFA cup in 2008 and a gold medal like 30 years ago.

if any European team were to win, i would hope it to be the Netherlands cause cruyff was pretty good and in the 70s they got to the finals twice (lost to Germany and Argentina). They're probably the most deserving of the non-world cup winners.

I call it soccer when I'm in the company of people who knows it as soccer and I call it football when I'm in the presence of people who are in tune with the sport's traditions I do it to avoid the confusion mostly. I don't see why this is a discussion. We all make the adjustment with other words to make our communication clearer
