Well some people weren't as lucky to have wealthy parents growing up, so if they are smart they will obviously go for the job that will pay them the most $$$.

Hell I'm from an average family and I want to be a doctor because I want to learn about anatomy, not because of the money.
I don't care if my wage does go down in the future as long as I'm able to support a family.

I'm tired of your fcking generalizations. My dad, at the age of 10, decided he wanted to be a doctor to help people not for the fcking money. He worked 3 jobs, THREE JOBS, to put himself through med school. You can't even tell the guy has money until you ask him, modest house, modest neighborhood, and a trash car. Could afford houses around the globe, cars out the ass, three yachts, and then some but he's not in it for the money. My mom is a nurse because she wants to help people. Fck you.

Just because your jerkoffs friends are greedy fcks doesn't mean that's the general pattern. All of my Dad's friends are doctors and none of them pull the shit you claim doctors pull.

I love Doctors like that. They are the ones I'd trust with my life above someone dressed in a nice suit. Money doesn't compare to the joy you can get from saving or helping someone live a better life. I once wanted to be an EMT. Not for the money as it's not a high income job, but because one day I woke up in the back of an Ambulance and their were 2 very concerned people looking at me.

Almost nobody goes to med school for money anyways.

The world doesn't revolve around income prospects for each study. You choose something that interests you. If you are good at it, the money will come. Stop obsessing over stuff like 'average salary after x years after completion of study', and start focusing on what will interest you.

same goes for you, not all doctors are in it for the charity just because all the people you know are. Anyways, there are few people in both sides of the extreme. Most doctors are in it both for the money and the ability to help sick people. Lets leave it at that, why dont we?

And those kids aren't my friends. I don't hang out with fags. Just people in my classes who all want to be doctors because of the pay potential. I was just laughing at those indian/chinese kids who want to be a doctor for the money after obama signed the bill.

And don't be so idealistic that the majority of people go into the med field to help people. Call me a cynical bumfuck I don't care, but the truth is that money attracts everyone to a certain degree and I'm sure the salary potential in doctors is a reasonable part of why a lot of people want to put themselves through 12 years of school to become one.

my friend was crying for 4 hours :palm:

^why?

Doctor pay rate is going to go down period. Not in a few years but 10 or 20 years from now when the whole process gets smoothed out. And now I'm laughing at all these asian kids at my school who wanted to get rich by bagging $120 when they have a 40 min checkup with a patient. But med school is still a good place to go if you want to make a lot of money, don't get me wrong lol.

Not really, he uses a lot of misinformation, hyperbole, red herring, and doesn't "fact check." He also shoots himself in the foot a couple times when he relies on anecdotal evidence and he has an "agenda." It's not unbiased in any sense of the word. Most people don't do secondary research so they absorb everything he says, sort of like those people that follow zeitgeist like it's their bible without actually doing interdependent research.

Cost are high because of malpractice coverage, insurance companies, and HMOs. Doctor's have to raise their prices to compensate.

Oh,I do know he isn't as "legit" as most people think he is. I also saw something about him getting fake information and all,but none the less it was informative for me to know about diff countries health programs.

thats only part of the equation. Doctors still take home a shit ton of money. I mean they can just order a bunch of expensive tests and sell prescription drugs and you find yourself in a business, not a medical practice. I read a yahoo top jobs list once and 8 jobs in the top 10 were medical field related. Anyways, the current system is too wasteful and bloated. This reform is going to do some good across the board.

Does anyone wonder why republicans are whining about the reform adding to the deficit? The budget office said that it would reduce the deficit and obama is paying for it through higher taxes on rich people and shuffling medicare budget around.

They also have to pay for their Medical school debt which is usually 100k+ for most doctors.

But I think they deserve their pay, they go through hell in medical school and have to do a 4 years residency just to be a general family doctor, to go on to specialty add another few years. All in all they usually have a high debt when they are fully eligible for their job.

Agreed, way to many loops. As for republicans, I never really understood republicans. One minute they're corporatist the next they want to join the ranks of libertarians and make us look bad.
