I am trying to cut down on the amount of SP needed. One of these attacks has to go. Which one do I keep?
The character in question is a light/ice/spear nuker.
Heuskal series is the one that eventually offers Dull and simultaneously hits 3 frontal enemies
Ghost Spear series is the one that hits 5 simultaneously and offers knock back.
As it is I usually only have room for 2 melee attacks during my battles and one of them is definitely going to be the Soul Depart Series for the stun. So I am looking to focus on just one other melee attack. I am not sure which one is better. Seems like ghost spear hits faster and more enemies. Knock back is nice, but is it necessary? Heuskal is slower to hit, but does not suffer from the after lull and eventually offers dull, but with all those clerics about can't dull be holy worded?

Well, TBH there are 3 skills you need. Soul Spear/Ghost Spear and Flying Dragon Series. You don't really need Dull in the end (it only slows the animation, not the dmg. And Ghost Spear is a great finisher.)

ghost spear ftw, and if you are pure int heuksal, soul spear and ghost spear is a must and flying dragon is optional.

FD is a must too, the 98 one does insane dmg as pure int.
