I did some searching on New egg and if I buy everthing on this list ( Including a new case and a Dvd Writer and a monitor) it will only cost me 727$!

The only thing is that I don't know how to assemble PC's D=.

I'mma wait until after the Starcraft Beta is over though to buy it, So probably by August ;3.
Probably upgrade some parts though.

Just gave my crap PC to a friend so he may salvage it for parts. Had it for 3 years. Brought it brand new then it started to give troubles. I will never buy a Hewlett Packard PC again. I don't care if HP comes out tomorrow with the most reliable PC ever made. I will still not buy it. HP stands for Horse Pile.

And I think my computer right now might have USB 1.0 so it's taking 230 minutes to copy over prototype from my HDD to the external disk D:

Lol, it's not that hard to put together a pc. I built this one myself, and despite thinking that it would be really difficult to put together, it went together really nicely.

I know it's not really hard, and I probably CAN do it myself but I have no experience, so I'd prefer someone who does have some to do it the first time. next time I might just try it myself. this guy is doing it for only 15 euro anyway (contrary to the order website which was gonna ask me 55 for it).

the only hard and its not really hard its just time consuming is the cable management. took me like 2 hours to set up all the cables so it goes via the back so i have little to no cables showing. makes having a see through side panel nice to look at

Btw for the prototype completely legit version that's on your old HDD. If you dont want to put it on an USB, just put the old HDD in your new computer too. But make sure to set it to "2nd" or something (Theres a little slide on it), and set the new one to "1st".

I don't think that'll do much. I'm upgrading it from XP to W7 so everything is probably gonna be wiped as soon as I start installing the OS.

My PCI network card is so old that there are no more drivers available after vista.
I have the Belkin F5D7000 PCI card I think. Does anyone happen to know a working strategy to make it pick up my wireless network? right now I'm using a reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaallllllllllllyyyyyyy long cable to connect it straight to my modem a floor lower. and my mom wants to kill me...

otherwise... what USB wirelesss adapters are there that could work with my stuff?

EDIT: I only used it for a few days. I'm not sure how well it works for long term connectivity. You could get a really nice card online, newegg would be my first stop.

graphics card: Sapphire HD5850 1GB GDDR5
Feedback: The reason i would go for a 58.. (means a 5850 or even 5870 ) is cause, if you are getting this in august, the prices will be lower already. And the difference between a 5770 and 5850 is already pretty big. + a 5850 or a 5870 in Crossfire is sweeeeeet.
I guess you could do it with a 5770, but in the long run you are better of with the 5850.

RAM: OCZ 4 GB DDR3-1333 Kit
Feedback: Guess this is ok, dont know too much about differences between the different types of RAM. As long as you get 4 GB atleast.

Processor: Any intel i7 or AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition
Feedback: You want one of these because imo its totally worth the money. Offcourse you can get a cheaper quad core, but the performance you get out of a good i7 or the AMD phenom is just too awesome to not get into a new pc.

Some specs:
AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition: Quad core on 3.2 GHz
Intel i7 920: Quad core on 2.66 GHz (Dont get fooled here, eventhough it has lower GHz than the phenom, it doesnt mean it will be worse in terms of performance. I mean, it isnt called an i7 for nothing.)
Intel i7 980x: Six core processor on 3.33 Ghz (Just wanted to throw this on the table cause its the newest thing around. If you have too much money, get it. But if you want to look at something that will be good for the next 3 years, dont get this. Its too overkill tbh :p )


Power: OCZ StealthXStream 500W
Feedback: Get a 650w, atleast. In 2 years you will be thinking: "Hmm, my graphic card is getting a little older, what shall i do?" The answer: Get a second one, and put it in crossfire. But you will need atleast 650w for that. So dont get a 500w now, to buy yourself a 650w later if you want to put your GPU in crossfire.

Motherboard: MSI 770-C45
Feedback: Get one where you have enough PCI-e slots. Dont be too greedy on the motherboard btw. It doesnt cost too much, so you better go for something thats good.
