Interesting, JM is doing their best to banned/scare "Player Bots". the current 3 strike system mainly applies to player bots and the new system will only apply to player bots as well. WHY?....well, if you banned all the accounts of a cap player that has spent silk on his acc. it will consider starting from scratch, even if it means botting again....if you banned 2000 goldbots in 1 day,,,,,2000 more goldbots will comeback in 2-4 days and since bot detection policy is not apply immediately they will be around for about month+, and the cycle repeats. that's my theory, then again I doubt that JM will banned active silk buyers.

more like 99% are bots.

The game has been on a streak now for a while due to GNGWC, then the mmo contest, and now they are getting ready to release a new legend. If the game remains in decent shape more than 2 months after the legend update. I will genuinely believe that jm is doing something.

I quit about a year and a half ago as well.

Currently, I'm waiting to see what this maintenance will bring. If the results are good, which I'll judge by looking on this forum, then I will get PayPal ready in terms of Prem+skill+monkey+ress scrolls etc. I would start immediately as soon as they launch the new server with Legend 5, probably the week after. If it's the week before then I'll be in trouble

I'll roll a chinese character (oldschool player ) and probably go pure STR again.

Well it's a little bit complex you know. Lots of things can be illegal, and bot is just one of them. I don't really know much about that pk2 or whatever it is but I think it's illegal aswell since it isn't and offical expension to the game (as far as I know). I'm just doing my first year as a programmer at University, but we were already told how to get through and hack those fancy flash games. You would never imagine that how unstable they are. So to get to the point I don't think it would cause much trouble to a programmer that actually has a lot of experience within(or in, dunno my grammar is aweful)programming to code anything that would help him.

With a tight group of people to party with, you can go there in within 3 months if playing as euro. Would take a bit longer leveling a chinese though.

Well... You've been playing sro recently? It helped a lot on the server traffic and bot amount when they got the 15 new GM's. I can still, after more than 2 months, log in on first try

So yeah... even if Joymax's new plan is going to fail (which I do not think it is), it will still help a bit. And yeah... I am kinda satisfied with JM and isro atm

I highly doubt those GM's have anything to do with it, hackshield protection added a lot more work to all the third party software that was available for silkroad, few of them did not get updated and most are multiclient tools, less people that can multiclient = less traffic, it`s just a matter of time before someone finds a loophole in hackshield and things are back to the way it used to be.

My char who got banned 2-3 weeks ago got a permanent ban, so i don't think stopping the 3 strike system is really a big deal. I mean many people got a permanent ban last weeks, so they just say they will stop the 3 bla bla thing because they r tired of people asking them why they got a permanent ban and not a first warning. Now they just won't need to answer such questions ^^

Bot or not, if it was their first offense it should be a 7day ban and not permanent.

I agree. 1 warning is good I guess. But then again, you should not use bot so why should there be a need of a first warning? The problem, as I see it, comes when innocent people are getting banned. However, we can never prove if they're innocent. I mean... people from my union are claiming that they never used any illegal software but who knows if they did.

Well, they made the rules so yes they shouldn't bot but if they are caught they should get punishments according to the rules. It mostly suck cuz I didn't loose any chars, just some nice items I was borrowing to a friend >.< a.k.a my +13 sword/+10 shield blegh
