why sadly? We have the most diverse ethnic and racial population on the planet. i doubt a single representative could capture that feeling but i mean if one country had to sum up the world no other one could do that better than we could see as we have large groups of people from all over the planet living here...

bullshit you dont have the most diverse population in the world, hell england is more diverse then america atm and more accepting seeing as we have open boarders

we have polish, french, black, white, asian, islamic people, christian people and so on

Did you really...i mean im used to dealing with you wong but this is a whole new level of stupid...ever hear of Polish-American or French-American or African-American or Asian-American :palm: ...im pretty sure you can do a google search and find that we have more muslims and christians here as well...thats part of the having one of the largest populations of any country and a big part of being one of the most diverse...

also i want to congratulate the British National Party on getting enough votes to get an EU seat...and i want to congratulate the Swiss on banning minarets, cause thats how you show freedom of speech and acceptance, by singling out a religion and telling them they can't build structures that have been a part of their history and world history for centuries... :palm:

im not pigheaded enough to say the US the paragon of peace and freedom and justice and is the BEST country in the world and is free of all problems and therefore BETTER than any other country and i didn't point out those above things to smear Europe, i did it to show you've got issues the same as we do so don't act like you don't. All im saying is the US has a huge population that is one of the most diverse in the world, statistically speaking I'm fairly certain no other country has as many different people of various backgrounds in the numbers that we do. We didn't earn the nickname of The Melting Pot for nothing...if you wanted to experience as many cultures as possible within a single countries borders though, the US would basically be a one stop shop...like i said it would be impossible for a single person to display all of that but a council of US citizens could produce one of the most diverse councils on the planet...

No. It's not like every person will vote for their country, at least not here in EU. Most of the people here will probably vote for the US.

Off topic, nothing to do with who represents us. Just wanted to say that even though you may not agree with certain political parties in Europe, it's important they exist. The fact that they got elected into European Parliament means there are enough people to support their cause. If you ever felt passionate about anything, from immigration to financial policies, you would want to be able to vote for exactly what you think.
If we can only create parties that conform to your liking, what kind of democracy would that be?

If only one person: Tim Schaffer or Tim Burton
but personally I think the leader of every country should just go and whomever else we see as important enough to go.

Yes, but the European Parliament hasn't enough power to actually make those 'wishes' come true. Therefore it's not really a democracy.

There was a movie where this happened..think it was called Contact.

They decided to vote on one of the scientists who discovered the Aliens or something..and wouldn't send some girl because she didn't believe/accept religion even though the majority of the Earths inhabitants do.

I'd send an average person. Someone with strong values/morals and tolerance..

Yes it is. They gained influence, albeit small. Just because you think in a certain way it doesn't mean it should automatically go that way. If the majority approves, it will happen. If not, it won't happen. They gained the exact amount of influence they were entitled to. It's a democracy.

Chances are the aliens will have taken a completely different evolutionary route and our ability to communicate could be extremely limited. They could use echolocation or something. Who knows.

made me smile your right somewhat but you didnt say america is the most diverse in the world. england isnt (check my post i didnt say we where the most diverse only said mroe then america which tbh i cant back that so i expected this)

Even if englands BNP has a seat on the eu we have a large population of different cultures on any single bus i can go though atleast 2 different culture ranges be it muslims, indians, chinese or what ever. i hear very little to suggest america is that diverse yes they do have a lot of cultures aswell but my orinal point is they are not the most diverse in the world ignor what i said about england for the time been as i never would suggest england to be at the fore front of first contact.

edit
on a side note did my research
Amsterdam
thats the most diverse city in the world and for you people knocking the EU, they are within the EU.

edit need to do more research found a number of contradicting articles
edit
The United Nations says that Toronto is the most ethnically diverse city in the world.

if you want to disprove it your welcome cba to look more into it

oh wow... :palm:
we learned about the "melting pot" back in 9th grade US history. What about you guys?

As for diversity, irregardless of the details, you could say that Japan (one of the most homogenous countries in the world) is the most diverse country in the world if there was 1 person from every other country living in Japan. What matters is the size of the ethnic communities and the scale of the cultural influences on the individual country. I'm certain America outweighs the UK in all those aspects.

no its how well these comunitys work together that makes them diverse otherwise they are segregated and divided america may well be making leaps and bounds in regards to this but for a long time you where quite closed minded and many stil are.

Typical american attitude we have more therefore we matter more or we are the best sorry but the real world dont work like that, just because you have more of each of these people from different backgrounds dont make you the most diverse.

Also good to see you skipped my latest post which i contradict myself and make corrections in.

finally in england its compulsary to learn about other cultures, religions until year 10 (~14-15 years old = year 10)

diversity doesn't mean that we all hold hands together and dance around the village tree. Ethnic divides will always exist. Why do you think there are Koreatowns, arabtowns, chinatowns in America? Diversity simply means that there are all kinds of people living in the same cities and working in the same office buildings. Just because ethnic communities exist doesn't mean people are racist or ignorant. Being comfortable with your own ethnic people is natural. America is generally a very open and welcoming country. Why do you think so many foreigners try so hard to get a greencard/visa? I don't understand why you are trying so hard to belittle America as ignorant and segregated.

Well obviously you realized how idiotic your first statement was and then went on google to research various demographic stats to correct yourself.

no although you are partly right yeh i made a stupid comment without much thought put into it and it would shock you to know i actually usually think about what i write so when i do make a mistake i will correct then back my corrections up but population has nothing to do with diversity so what i said stands having more isnt better. But on a note to what you said that i have said is partly right is this
diversity doesn't mean that we all hold hands together and dance around the village tree. Ethnic divides will always exist. Why do you think there are Koreatowns, arabtowns, chinatowns

difference is and it can be more openly seen in islamic countrys different people can live in the same city, work in the same area but they sure as hell dont like each other how is that diverse? thats a divide. I know for a fact that in certain parts of america you stil treat those who are different as outcasts and rejects but in citys like NYC they work together better.

Anyways before i go off the ball too much my point although skewed is again america isnt the most diverse and population =/= diversity

lol believe what you will. Obviously you have an axe to grind, which must be the reason why you keep painting america as a not very open country. For a country that was started by immigrants and built up on immigrants for the past 250 years it doesn't make any sense why you think america isn't as diverse as it really is.

I know for a fact that in certain parts of america you stil treat those who are different as outcasts and rejects

I know for a fact that in certain parts of europe and asia you stil treat those who are different as outcasts and rejects

im not arguing nor defending asia and europe i made one passive comment on europe in this whole thread

and i never said it didnt have diversity but im arguing that its not the MOST diverse and that population =/= diversity

big deal you split from Great Britian over a stupid reason which later on you do the same thing just under your own government, thats if we are going down the history route but tbh i know i dont much like america as a whole not got anything again individuals just america has a certain mentality.

one little fact to back up my point about the american mentality

the language english is often refered to as american by americans...need i say more i also dont want to hear how your not one of those people or you this or you that kk
