Pretty funny to see that a law study is seen as hard and ambitious in the US, but in the Netherlands it's the number 1 pick for people who don't know what to do. It's like: "oh if it doesn't work out, I'll just do law"
But good luck with your preparation.

That's because there is generally no post-grad education needed for a law degree in Europe.

Re: I'm an attention whore
i think the only reason law is considered prestigious in the U.S. is because of the fierce competition for the top 14 big name schools, and the fact that once ur in law school, u have to contend with dozens of people just as hard working and want the same biglaw firm interviews as you do, so you can't take it easy one bit (if u want to succeed and get that 6 figure pay check)
law school's a killer =x

Asian parents: "Why dun you be da lawyer, or da docta?"
But good job if you truly want to be a lawyer, and good luck.

Used to be, but not really anymore in america. The job market is saturated with unemployed lawyers because so many people are trying to become lawyers.
The problem with American society now is that students are trying to find a career that is easy but can haul in big money, which supposedly is law because its relatively easy compared to other professional schools. Law is a lot of reading and englishy kind of stuff. Not the math, memorizing that a lot of american students abhor.
Med school, graduate engineering (you'd need an undergrad engineering which most people aren't willing to do anyways), business school, all these graduate schools are where there is money to be made and jobs to be filled. But they are also difficult to learn and be good at. So thats why so many americans choose law for a professional degree.
Bottom line is, becoming a productive person (and therefore making a lot of money) takes time and is hard, and american students are screwed if they don't realize that.

Students are students, mister stereotype regurgitation machine.
Getting into law is one thing, finding a firm you can work with is another.

This, couldn't have worded it better. Nowadays most students ( I am in High School so I know ) want high paying jobs so they say law, medical, engineering. But I have these people in my class and they don't work for shit. They don't study for tests, they cheat, and they never feel like doing work, most of these people don't understand the hardness of medical school.
Msg for lockerz invite.

exactly. anyone can take the LSAT and get a 150 and go to a tier 4 or 5 law school, but will he find a good job coming out of school? doubt it, especially in this economic climate.
that's why i'm taking this seriously. i need a good LSAT score to get into a good school, hopefully in the top 25, then if i do well in L1, i can transfer into a top 14 law school, and then after i graduate i will have the job and the pay necessary to pay off my loans.
otherwise, might as well not even go to law school.
