Even in college with spanish 3 i barely had to say much on my orals. Hardest oral i had was in high school and I still did fine winging it and talking about ugly hookers selling toys for food...

I'm in my last year of high school in the 'highest' level of Dutch high school. I have had French for six years, so imagine how bad I must be if I still can't speak it for shit.
I cheat a lot during French exams. Always bring complete breakdowns of verbs and all that good stuff. I may not be good in French, but I am really pro in cheating exams. (Don't go moral on me now, really can't use it atm)

@ swordcloud I mean the courses ('sujets' in french I believe. 'Les sujets pas normal' (?))

If you're not ready to move on to higher levels of french, it means you probably need to retake the class or get help. Cheating and moving on later will only hurt if you plan on using it someday. People that cheat on their major classes scare me, although I understand if it's a minor class that you just need to graduate.

Completely different school system compared to America. In the end I will get my final exam in the form of a big french text that I have to answer questions about, which isn't too hard. Just have to survive two more months without dropping below 5.5 (6.0 currently) and I'm fine.

vous dire(order of word as simple as that)
"vous apprenez pour toujours" you use that more like for something you can't forget, like drive a car..

I know this is wrong: "parce que il ya de possibilité pour finalement équiper"
In Dutch, to rest and to equip is the same word (uitrusten). What I mean is that I can finally relax after six years of 'hard' work in high school.

I hate french. I sucked at french.

OT: Do Dutch people get French as standard curriculum? I thought my northern neighbours failed that French.

You can choose between French and German, most people pick German, because it's more closely related to Dutch.
Higher levels of high school have 3 years of mandatory german and french (then you choose between them), but idk much about the lower education. I think French is optional, German mandatory.
I thought that if I was going to learn a language, it would at least be one I enjoy speaking. So I chose French because German sounds awful. French is a nice language, just very hard.

Well it takes a lot more than just 2 hours a week of French lessons to become fluent.
I may have exaggerated how hard I fail in French, but even the best French students in my high school are nowhere near fluent French.

I speak a little French, a bit more German and, imo, fluent English and Dutch.

I hope it helps... sorry I did this rapidly :S

We grade 1-10 and 7.7 is a really high grade for a french oral exam (average is around 6.5). So thanks everyone :yay:

VWO you're talking about does indeed have 3 years of mandatory french and german, and after that it's 3 years of mandatory french and/or german(depending on the classes you chose).
HAVO(one could say a 'level' lower) has, instead of 3 extra, 2 extra years in general, of which(if I remember correctly, it's been a while) 1 mandatory french or english.

I don't know, really, it's been too long, and it generally differs for each school.
