Interesting way to do things....I'm looking into joining the Coast Guard or Navy as an officer because I'm betting my bachelors now.

Blurred, look into the Air Force's scholarship programs. I know for the Coast Guard it's called CSPI, and for the Navy it's called BDCP. Basically they pay for the last two years, and you make something like an E4 salary every month, and then you go to OCS.

Good deal that I'm hopefully going to get with the Coast Guard.

I think you have a better chance of getting officer if you join now as an enlisted. I believe there's a really long wait period. (Especially coast guard, the hardest branch to get into..)You can have your bachelors degree, but they will still accept people with military experience + bachelors, rather than people with NO military experience + bachelors. I mean you can still get in, but it's going to be slightly harder, and it also looks better on your application, you entered the enlisted route it's going to look like you worked from the bottom to your way up. (This is what the Officer recruiter told me, he encourages people to join enlisted, and obtain there degree while in the military) Basically they put you in the bottom of the list. But maybe the Navy and the Coast Guard work different so it could be different?

I think that if you enlist, you can be called upon in wartime. It's more of a bonus for the army than for yourself if you enlist, afaik. (I think it works that way in the Netherlands anyway)

Everyone can be called during wartime bro, even officers. They call you by squadrons, not by the individual. But being called upon depends on your branch, job, and squadron. I know people in the Air Force and navy (safest branches to be in) that never have deployed.. but people in the army deploy every x amount of years that last more than 2 years.
