I've been with my girlfriend for a year and a half. I have a couple of romantic ideas for her but I want to see if there's anything else I can do.

personally iv avoided it as i dont really want to spend money or time on it but non the less the day has nothing to do with money and the idea behind is to spend time with your other half and show effection a simple meal and movie counts as a good valentines day

also partly due to the fact i rarly have a girlfriend going on around the time of valentines day haha

Well what I did, didn't cost much at all.

First I talked with her mom to let me in when she's away so I could prepare things.
I made a heart of roses on her bed, placed some candles here and there and dimmed the light.
Went out and got a necklace [cheap one like $7, looked like a heart which you could open] and glued 2 pictures of us being young in there :3 Then I told some friends to lure her out, came out of a corner [and no no surprise butt-sex ] and gave her a little plushie dog with the necklace on, and her mother would be lighting the candles while we were going back to her place :3

Since everyone else didn't bother to post anything that might you help, I figured I'd do so, hope you got some ideas
