there were a few things in that first episode, that I really didn't remember. For example that Juliet joined the castaways because she wanted to leave the island and go home.

I thought the monster explanation is still kinda... MEH, because the monster is the ONLY magic thing we've ran into on the island (as well as the "dinosaur" thing if it's not the same )
And now it's a "human". Idk. I don't buy it. Also kind of weird how Jacob died and all of a sudden they KNOW that the smoke is gonna be coming? (forgot the name of jacobs friend atm).

Me and my friend had an argument about the "flashforwards".

On one hand, they could be real flashforwards, indicating that the characters will eventually get off the island by changing the past, i.e. not having to crash at all. On the other hand, these flashforwards are basically set in an alternate reality based on a what-if assumption.

The first explanation sounds better. It gives us a preview of what the characters lives are after the reset, instead of just having the show end with them successfully avoiding the crash. So the island scenes basically explain how the island sinks in the end.

So far, I am more interested in these "flashforwards" than the events in the island. They have fully established their characters in five seasons and now we get to see them move about without the events in the island. I love it.
