New announcement section

Hello. This is SD Ryoko.

Love that.

Thankyou for your patience as I added the new announcement sections on the index page.

This is to bring out the latest news to the front page. This will help when visitors are looking for information about the Silkroad servers, too.

I am new to PHPBB so it took a couple hours to learn how to extract the data, pass it to the template, and then display the passed data.

Now you can CLEARLY see the third beta will begin on the 24th This should detere a lot of repetive server questions as well.

Now I was thinking, the space on the RIGHT of the news could be used for a 'random screenshot' of the game or something!

Overclocking IE never hurt anybody

How would you generate the screenshots? Would you be stealing the ones from the official site or would players submit thier own?
At which point, how would you monitor the quality of the shot submitted.?
Cos it would be kinda fruity if out of all the shots you find a lvl 13 player just standing in the mangyang field doing nothing in particular with no interest.

i think we should upload our own, we can always get more ss when server opens up. also some scrren shot from offical site.

The upload ScreenShots idea is pretty cool, but as Ziggy said, there would have to be monitoring.

I'm having trouble thinking of what all could go there. >_<
