To be honest you can't expect much from F2P,I kinda promised myself I'd never play them again. P2P/P2P+Monthly Fee is the way to go if you want a quality game =)

No more decent MMO's out there. WOW is just dumb to me i dont like the whole wasd thing. Sro period is shit on a stick because of the ridicoulous amount of time to login and then the grinding is just terrible. Aion is just WoW with better graphics. RoM is a cheap imitation of WoW. Runescape is played out now that theres no more pking so im sticking with rs private servers. (www.runelocus.com)<--list of private servers less than 10 mins dl for each server lol.

Sounds like your grudge is against the genre, not the games themselves. I don't see why you expect that to change in the near future. MMOs have always been a niche genre with WoW being the exception, not the standard. You either like'em or you don't. WoW is more accessible to casuals so it has a larger user base. The WoW generation made WoW thrive. Nothing more. They may have given a few other MMOs a quick buck but they left when it wasn't like WoW or wasn't as good as WoW. If your MMO doesn't have near as many subs as WoW then its deemed "dead" even though it may have a perfectly acceptable amount of players for a game in a niche genre. So yea, MMOs will always be a niche genre because you can't expect many casual gamers to stick with a game that requires a monthly fee for years and years. And because MMOs are a niche genre, nearly every game that tries to break the mold will fail or won't be as successful as the developers wanted. Many casual players and people new to the genre want something brand new and many MMO veterans want something new as well but still in the same mold. The MMO genre is probably one of the few gaming genres where innovation isn't a high priority to please the core fans.

Also, there have been a lot of good games released over the past few years which has probably affected MMOs quite a bit.
