Computer parts [rate and comment]
Right now I'm looking for a computer. It's supposed to last for quite a while (at least 3-5 years)
I probably won't be buying one that you gotta build (so don't waste your comments on that >__>). Anyway, a friend of mine made a list for me with a good computer. I'm kind of interested in how you people would rate the parts seeing as I have no idea about this stuff and I'd like to know what I should search for.
Cooler Master Real Power M620 € 72,95
Gigabyte GA-P55-UD4 € 136,85
Intel Core i5 750 € 157,50 (2.66Ghz)
OCZ Platinum Low Voltage OCZ3P1333LV4GK € 94,- (4GB Dual Channel DDR3-kit)
Samsung SH-S223B/BEBE [DVD player] € 18,52
Samsung Spinpoint F3 HD502HJ, 500GB € 42,95 (500gb)
XFX HD 5850 1024 MB DDR5 (HD-585A-ZNFC) € 243,45
Total € 766,22
This is kinda what I expect my computer to be able to take:
Also if anyone could tell me what I need to look at with graphic cards...

Re: Computer parts [rate and comment]
Considering it's already assembled I think it's a fair price, not good, but ok.
You could also buy parts and let the shop assemble it for you. That way you don't have to make it yourself, but you still might be cheaper off.

the last one. XFX HD 5850 1024 MB DDR5 (HD-585A-ZNFC) € 243,45
Any idea how well newer games work on it? (AC2, prototype, etc)

Re: Computer parts [rate and comment]
Looks really nice, but I would take these:
Core i7 860 or 870 (http://www.cpu-upgrade.com/mb-Gigabyte/ ... .0%29.html)
And replace ur stock cooler (ONLY if u want OC ur cpu, if you dont it's not needed!)
Also the grahics card, its nice but i would buy the HD5970 or GTX395.
Take a look at this site: http://www.gpureview.com/ Here u can see the specifications an also compare with every graphics card!
but it requires abit higher budget

I probably won't overclock, but could you explain what it is exactly >__<
As far as I know it revolves around making your processor hyperventilate to inhuman speeds...?

From what I'v heard,by changing something in the BIOS you can make a 2.4GHz processor run at 3GHz (exemple)
Also is it me,or u just went and suggested him the best video card out there? He dosn't have a high budget.

yes, how better ur cpu cooler is how higher u can overclock ur cpu, i managed to overclock mine cpu from 2.6GHz to 2.82GHz (AMD athlon II quad 620) with a stock cooler. if i would buy a custom cpu cooler i could overclock it to 3.1ghz or something. but if you dont know how to overclock, just dont do it, you might fuckup ur cpu ^^
and yes the best video cards atm.. but if u buy this pc u probably wont need a pc for the next 5 years

just stfu seriously, why in fk would he needs those cpus... another idiot spamming shit
@peo all looks good to me besides for gpu, i would go for either a 4870 or 5870, the 5850 is not worth the investment in my eyes. dont bother with aftermarket cooler, cpu will do just fine with your gpu/possibly res setup.

Re: Computer parts [rate and comment]
good looking decent rig i think, not too expensive which is good and is more essential to what you need, no needless parts. but why does it say "dual channel ddr3 kit"? meh w/e.

I just mentioned it so that people wouldn't ask about the ddr and stuff like that =/
anyway I made a slightly different list. I toned the graphic card down a bit and added the OS in there as well -.- . prices is still 6$ less

no, dual channel = ddr2, Triple channel = ddr3 (unless that is how they say it because there is 2 sticks of ddr3 so w/e). but anyways i think you should keep that dx11 card you had on there, don't wanna go too far back and if you go down to dx10 graphics go with nvidia, gtx 280 is cheap nowadays. also, 1Tb hard drives are cheap maybe not so reliable but i would look into a 750gb drive, i have one and no problems so far and its a seagate

Do you happen to know what the most worthwhile card, is below 150 euro, that supports dx11?

Re: Computer parts [rate and comment]
the cheapest you can go is a Radeon HD 5750. no idea what the price is over there. in canada it's probably $300 or so.

little problem with the monitor now =/
the graphics card has DVI output and my monitor a VGA.
can I just use this adapter to fix it?

GPUs almost always ship with one or two of those adapters. (Assuming it's retail.) But yes, that adapter will work.

a 5750 for a 4870 is such a bad tradeoff that i dont know where to begin, do some research mate.

how about the 5770 then? The prices only differ a little bit and it seems to work a bit better?

Re: Computer parts [rate and comment]
don't listen to the people saying get a i7 stay with the i5 you don't need the hyperthreading. you only need an i7 if your doing extreme cad or something. for gaming you don't need alot as i assume thats what your going for?
anyways 4870 vs 5770 is a toughy they exchange blows (they beat each other in benchmarks) the 5770 can overclock better because of its 40 nm vs 4870 55 nm (or something close).
also double check if you really need windows 7 pro i'm sure you could get away with home but its up to you.
