Since Mabinogi was last mentioned on the forums there has been many changes. The Biggest Change was that its now completely free to play since you can rebirth for free at age 20. The way this works is you create your character at age 17 ( you age once a week on saturday) so every 3 weeks you get to age 20 then rebirth to an age between 10-17. It is highly recommended to rebirth to age 17!
What Happens When You Rebirth?
Your level goes all the way down to 0 along with your exploration level. Though you keep your skill ranks.
Why would i wanna be level 1 all over again!
Level means next to nothing in mabinogi, its all about your skill ranks. You get 1 Ap (ability point) per level so its easier to keep going through the low levels to get AP. (Dont think of this as farming because a lvl 1 can take out a lvl 70 if he has higher ranked skills)
Make A Human as you first character
Even if your not going to get past level one on your human make one as your first character because then you can get a free elf and giant card. The way you do this is go to vales (giant town) and talk to krugs and become friend of the giants. You will get a free giant card. Then break your alliance, go to Filia (elf town) and talk to Castanea. Become friend of the elves and you will get a free elf card. You can change freely between Friend of the elves and Friend of the gaints now. You will now have a Human, elf and giant on the same account! Even if you think human...NO WAY elf/giant looks way cooler. Still make a human first to get the cards.

Mabinogi gameplay is one of a kind! Its too hard to explain, you have to try it for yourself!
Dungeon System
In Mabinogi you never just sit in a field grinding on monsters for days in this game besides training windmill you will NEVER train like you do in SRO, Cabal etc. The way you level is through dungeons. To get in a dungeon you go to the dungeon lobby and you or your party all stand on the altar. You can drop any item or even a special pass to enter a harder version of the dungeon. Dungeons normally consist of 1-5 floors and at the end theres always a boss to kill. Once you kill the boss you get a key and open a chest for your reward. There are many types of dungeons some outdoor dungeons, some ice dungeons when you walk across ice pillars and some dungeons which are in a underground mine! Finally no more of that boring grinding like in the other MMORPGS!

In mabinogi there is lots of instruments you can play such as drums, lutes, mandolins, flutes, ukuleles, roncadoras and chalumeaus. With these instrments you can just play them buy using the skill or equip a music scroll in your left hand. You can write your own music scrolls using the composing application on the Mabinogi homepage or buy others have made or copy others that people have shared for you to copy! So why not sit around a campfire at night playing the Pokemon theme song or even start up a band using the band action!
Spirit Weapons
In Mabinogi you can make a spirit weapon which is with you permanently and you cannot get rid of it or loose it unless you destroy it by doing a certain quest. To make a spirit weapon you will need a 100 profiency weapon, a spirit stone (worth 10k) and 30 elemental removers (1k each). Also the weapon cannot be any lower then 80% of its original durability. NOTE when you repair an item and it fails you will loose 1 max dura which means if i had a 9/10 durability sword and it failed it would become a 9/9 durability sword Once you have these, complete the quest to get a spirit weapon. Spirit weapons damage is insanely high compared to a normal weapon e.g a Normal Claymore hits 38-55 but a maxed spirit weapon claymore hits 124-188. You can also name your spirit weapon so if i had a spirit weapon called Dynasty the item would be called Andys Dynasty. A spirit lives in your spirit weapon yet its quit shy. When its social level is high enough you get a skill called Ego Incarnation, the spirit comes out and flys around doing godly damage! It is recommened you start getting the profiency up on the weapon you want to use as your spirit weapon as soon as you can afford the weapon! I recommend you always bless your weapon you desire to become your spirit weapon, which means its dura will go down slower so its more of a chance it wont end up below 80% of its original durability.

Pioneers of Iria
This was the breakthrough it came with free rebirth a whole new contenent and Elves and Giants which i will explain later.
Ancient Secrets Of Inrid
A new Region in the contenent,Iria came called Courcle. In Courcle there was a whole new rafting game which is extremely fun! Another big thing about this update was Flying Mounts. Even though flying mounts can only fly in iria while there flying there extremely fast and fun!
Dragon
A new Region in the continent Iria came, called Zardine along with this was Hot Air Balloons, New Skills, New Armors and new weapons!
The Ranks
When you rank you skills it starts at novice then goes to rank f-a once its rank a it goes to rank 9-1 then to master.
Elves
Elves are extremely talented mages and archers but horrible in combat yet there are some pro combat elves! Elves turn Falcon the Falcon quest only takes about 1 day of hard playing or 1 week casual. Its the same as the savage beast quest except 1 part.
What order should i rank my skills?
1. Rank 9 range
2. Rank 1 refining (Needed for the DEX)
3. Rank 1 range
4. Rank 1 Profuction Mastery
5. Rank 1 Magnum
6. Get whatever you want probaly max the bolt spells and rest of the bow skills.
Giants
Very good at melee but cant wield bows and magic costs double the mana for them. So you would mainly focus on melee with a side of magic. Giants turn savage beast, the savage beast quest only takes about 1 day of hard playing or 1 week casual. Its the same as the Falcon quest except 1 part.
What order should i rank my skills?
1.Rank C Combat Mastery
2.Rank 1 Windmill along with rank 9 critical
3.Rank 1 Smash
4.Rank 1 Combat Mastery
5.Rank whatever you want from now on
Humans
The Jack of all trades and my favourite class by far! There very good at melee and their ranged is arguably superior to that of elf bowman once you get arrow revolver (warning arrow revovler costs millions). Also not too far behind elves when it comes to magic! They also have 2 transformations for this reason. Paladin for Melee/Bow and Dark Knight for mages (this is just suggestions human bow and melee can still go dark knight). The human transformation is the hardest you have to do G1 (you can skip G1 by talking to the cat in the old guys house in tir chional). Then you have to complete g2 which you cant skip but its really fun but takes ages! if you want to get dark knight you will have to complete G3 aswell. Paladins can still complete G3 but they dont do the extra darknight bit at the end.
What order should I rank my skills as a Human?
1.Combat Master Rank C
2.Windmill Rank 1 along with rank 9 Critical
3.Rank 1 Smash
4.Rank 1 Combat Mastery
5.If you wanna add Archery to your arsenal buy arrow revovler and rank that along with Ranged Attack if you wanna add magic start ranking your bolts and invest in Advanced Magic. (You can easily add both(Or even be a pure)
Training Guide
Complete all you beginner quests
Then just rank your skills while running whatever dungeons you want to run! I recommend ciar dungeon in Tir Chional you will be doing ciar for a while starting of with ciar beginner going all the way to ciar intermediate!
Combat Point Tags.
Hold down the alt button and next to the monster it will say weak, weakest, nothing (which means its around your lvl), strong, awful or boss. (to get a boss kill doesnt mean its a boss just a boss level monster so really just find a strong monster which isnt that easy for you to kill). You also have your own amount of combat points that you cant see.
Windmill!
Windmill,windmill,windmill whats all the fuss about windmill!
The reason you get rank 1 windmil before your other skills is CP (combat points) Windmill requires you to kill boss level monster and if your other skills are too high youll have to kill insanely hard stuff for the game to recognise them as boss monsters. ( even rank b combat mastery will give you some troubles so keep it at c!)
How to rank Windmill?
To get to rank 9 for strong monsters kill grey foxes for very powerful kill Black wolves and brown dire wolves (these three monsters are next to each other outside of ciar dungeon). Once you have rank 9 you will start getting the task Kill 3 boss monsters, kill any monster boss ranked monster to get those small amount of kills. When it starts going to kill 50 or 100 boss monsters its time to kill some zombies! Zombies are found in tir na nog which you need a pass to get to which is very hard to get but i have them so if your on my server (alexina) i will take you for free or you can buy a ride there for 10k. Ride= going on someones mount who will use the pass. You kill zombies all the way to rank 1!
I have killed the max amount of boss numbers but i dont have enough points to level Windmill!
Run rabbie normal and if you followed my guide all of the monsters in there will be labled Awful (very powerful enemy)
Windmill Training is taking so long!
Trust me it takes a long time but its worth it because rank 1 windmill is godly!
