considering people still play their games(including me), pay for them(excluding me) and how most if not all these people hate the company, its service, its games or w/e.
The fact is that JM is considered a global multimedia game phenomenon which makes a lot of profit.

You didn't have to pay a dime to get the keys to enter in the competition, you just simply had to play the game or hell you could leave the game up and you'd still get em being afk, then you just opened 1 of 3 boxes if you didn't win the main prize you still received in-game prizes.

You know, I bet the prizes are just cleaned but pre-used pieces of gear left behind by Crayon or Gargamel when they quit and got replaced by GM bots. They just took their computer, took a part and said "Hey, let's make an event where we give these away but make them pay to win!"...

And what's sad, is some people will actually enter to try and win these hand-me-downs...
