Luckily I dont have any of those problems.
Me likes it quite much, looks good and is smoother and a lil bit faster than Vista was imo.

Re: Windows 7 launch!
It's always great to get free stuff. I wouldn't mind having an Xbox 360. It'd go next to my Wii and Sega Dreamcast. I already have XP Pro, but I don't use it. I don't care for Vista (who does?). I also don't have any ambition to even try Windows 7. I'd just give those CDs to someone else, or probably just throw them out.
As for Visual Studio, I'd just run that on XP under VirtualBox on my Linux machine.
Either that, or try to find a way to get it to work under Wine.

that's like you paying away .000005 cents more to a cashier.
Wut?
In other words, $1000 to Microsoft is just pocket change. It would be like you buying something for $9.99, giving the guy $10 and saying keep the change.
Not to mention the fact they make it all, so in reality it would of cost them alot less than it would for you to buy it.

Re: Windows 7 launch!
I'm using Windows 7 Ultimate Edition 64Bit Retail (I live in Redmond, duh), and it is flawless. It runs faster then my old XP by 2-3 fold, it's UI is smooth, customization is for the user and I haven't had one crash since. My games also boot up MUCH faster.

Re: Windows 7 launch!
I might be a little more interested in the Windows 7 UI if it featured virtual desktops, especially if those virtual desktops can be placed on a rotating 3D cube. I want to also be able to unfold that cube to see a zoomed out copy of my 4 virtual desktops at the same time. These 4 desktops, whether zoomed out, or on the cube, should be fully animated. Add some wobbly windows for a nice touch.
At least my Ubuntu box already does that, and has for a while now.

XP/Vista/7 and probably 98/95 can do that as well..there's been a program allowing windows to have the 'cube' for a looooooooooooooooooooooooong time.

Yes, but from what I remember, it didn't work all that well. It certainly wouldn't be integrated into the OS as nicely as Compiz and Beryl are in Linux. Besides, there are a ton more features besides just the cube.
I also want an OS that I don't have to reboot whenever I update software.

Re: Windows 7 launch!
The cube thing is useless anyway. But I agree that Beryl is pretty cool. Would like to have something like that on my xp as well. I had Ubuntu for a while but the support for all the devices I had is not the best possible. Also I'm not interested in learning to use new OS. Ubuntu is hard men

So if you find the cube useless, turn it into a cylinder or a sphere. Both work equally as well. I like being able to rotate all my desktops so I can check on another window if I want to see how far it is progressing (say a file copy or a download) without fully switching to it. The animated window thumbnails that I think Windows 7 has seem they'd be a bit too tiny sometimes, and you only see one at a time.
Ubuntu has always worked nicely for me on any computer I install it on. Then again, so has Gentoo, but that just takes a bit more work.

I've got Professional thanks to MSDNAA.
She does like to munch on RAM. ~600MB in use with nothing running.
I have been meaning to get another 2 gigs though. After that though I'm really close to maxing my motherboard out.
