If you receive someone else's mail
Is it illegal to throw it away? I live in an apartment and have been receiving the previous tenants mail since I moved. I have always thrown it away because it was always junk mail but this time I have received their paycheck and I don't want to throw that away. If I return it to the post office will they ask about the rest of his mail?

Or you can send it to him yourself, if it has his address and its messed up. we got a neighbors mail and just gave it to them.

I can't, it was sent to my address because he used to live here. I don't where he is at.

Re: If you receive someone else's mail
I guess return it, and hope they dont ask for his old mail. I doubt they would

Re: If you receive someone else's mail
Then you write 'Return to Sender' on the envolope and place it in your mailbox so the mailman takes it...
Re: If you receive someone else's mail
Or you throw it away. If the idiot is too stupid to realize all his mail is not coming anymore including his paycheck, he'll get off his lazy ass and get his email forwarded.

Send it back, if they ask you about the rest of the mail tell them this is the first time you've received someone else's mail..

Just send it as out going.
If where he is, is anything like the USPS they always get it wrong even if you send a address change. Not the persons fault.

Hmm, I guess. I did it in person at 8 am and I got all my mails. I've moved several times and each time it always worked. My gf did it online and they missed her mail for about a month. So I guess it deps how you do it. When it comes with government service, I prefer doing things face to face.
