Re: Rev6 New Login tutorial [Not a hack, No Program Req]
what if it was 4 login servers since the very first time?
oh, btw, I've found one pic of one of the login servers, Tarky was there checking the queue system and for bot loggin.

To the file 'C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts'
does this affect vista? Cause I am unable to find etc. I got lost at drivers.

Like that, just add those lines to connect to .26
and to save it, remeber to run notepad as administrator.

Re: Rev6 New Login tutorial [Not a hack, No Program Req]
Yea. I got my guildmates to each specifically log on different servers, me 26 and 30, them 27,28,29. We timed it over vent to all start the login around the same time. So far it's 6 hours and still no one got on. I think someone is spamming the JM login servers or they themselves are crowding them on purpose. I never seen it be so hard to log on before. I'm on my gf's labtop now playing l4d instead...

Re: Rev6 New Login tutorial [Not a hack, No Program Req]
I sometimes try the /etc/hosts trick, but sometimes I forget. Either way, I often set it to log in, go to work, come home, and I'm on the character select screen with the 'disconnected from server' message.

Umm...run the Notepad as administrator, then open it on Notepad and save it, should work.

Re: Rev6 New Login tutorial [Not a hack, No Program Req]
I tried running as administrator and also making sure that the check box is unchecked for read-only. however this couldn't solve my problem. In the end, what i did was
right click on hosts.
go to properties
go to security
make sure all my users like system, administrator and Users (my pc name) are allowed to write and modify etc etc.
Will this affect my system? Since I am the only one that has access to this computer, but I'm talking about viruses etc..
On a sidenote, how do we know if .26 is crowded with bots, or if it's crashed etc..
thanks for being patient with me guys =)

It won't harm your pc.
You don't know... My experience with .26 is that it took longer as .30 (Hercules)

I'd say it won't harm your PC... unless something happens... You wouldn't want just anyone having write access to your hosts file. Then I could write a script that will update your hosts file to redirect all of your banking traffic to my website, if I know what bank you use, without having to exploit some bug first to gain administrator rights.
