Rare times I agree with you, this is one. And its not like Im some anti war person. I have a lot of family and friends fighting now or about to go and fight. But EvGa is one of the top dumb asses on the forums, talks out his ass a lot.

Nobody else in this thread knew him in person, only through an article. I went to school with him for 4 years. He was ALWAYS an asshole to people that did not deserve it. I've seen him **** with kids that could do nothing to defend themselves. Of course their family is going to be sad that he's gone, thats what a family is supposed to do, but I doubt that he openly told them how he messed with people every chance he could while at school.

Im not assuming im stating. I had typed up a nice statement trying to talk to you as if you were capable of empathy but we both know you're beyond that. So emotional junk aside the man was depressed and the reasons for his depression were very clear. Red flags should've gone off somewhere. I know its somebody's job to help these kinds of people because its not like stress disorders are unheard of in the armed forces. So im stating, not assuming, this is me TELLING you that people need to start paying more attention to these types of cases before they escalate to this level.

You're anecdotal evidence of this person, that is based from events that transpired some odd years ago is hardly representative of who he was before death. People change over time, and much more so with the rigorous mental and physical training that military personnel undergo to qualify for service. I have personally witnessed people from my graduating class change personalities to a certain degree after entering the military. Now this is not to say that everyone changes. It is evidence that people can change.

It doesn't matter if you personally witnessed his actions back in high school. It doesn't matter if we can only know this person from an article. The very basis of your statement is from the fallacious premise that change cannot happen, coated with apathetic words.

Now I would just brush it off and chuckle at your ignorant statements if you were some teenager who is still undergoing maturity. But to know that you are an adult, it inspires pity more than anything else.

I'm an American born convert Muslim and I was in the army and deployed in Iraq came back a few months ago.. While I do not agree with what this Major has done in anyway what so ever.. in fact he has made life a little harder for fellow American Muslim soldiers.. there is a little justification in what have might caused him to go bezerk.. the army does treat you while I won't say crap but with little or no respect.. can't blame them and yes soldiers with Arab / Muslim background do face some discrimination can't blame that either cause of the retarded extremists who find a way to **** up an average normal peaceful Muslim.. but this could have been avoided if he had been discharged or allowed to.. when we return back from countries like Iraq and Afghanistan we don't really bring fun stories.. our friends die right next to us.. and even killing people racks up the nerves maybe this guy heard his share of stories and did not want to be deployed.. but conclusion it's not justified what he did in fact I would personally like to beat him up.. but the superiors ought to pay more attention to fellow soldiers..
