[News]Deadly shootings at US army base
A US Army major has opened fire on fellow soldiers at the Fort Hood military base in Texas, killing 13 people and injuring 30, officials say.
Base commander Lt Gen Bob Cone said that the gunman had not been killed, as earlier stated, but was in custody.
It is not clear what motivated the attacker, named as 39-year-old military psychiatrist Major Nidal Malik Hasan.
But some reports said the US-born Muslim was unhappy about being sent to Iraq or Afghanistan.

hmm what a pathetic man. If he truly didn't want to go...kill yourself..not others...there is no excuse for murder.

Hours and hours of the media saying the gunman died then that news conference happens and they say he's still alive! That blew my mind. Can't believe he's still alive, almost every shooting you hear about like this the gunman dies by police or shoots himself.

Re: [News]Deadly shootings at US army base
was following this story all day...
The man was a psychiatrist for military personal returning from a war he wanted nothing to do with and was completely against. He was trying to leave the military only to find that he was later going to be deployed overseas. He was a peaceful man who fell into a dark place while everyone else ignored him, its not a pattern thats uncommon in our society. People only seem to care about people like them once they've picked up the gun or are about to...what happened was terrible but whats even worse imo is that it could've been avoided if people just stopped and listened...

Why join the military if you don't want to be deployed... I call bs that he was a peaceful man. How can you possibly put the blame on other people for not listening to him. The killings were done by him. It was his responsibility.
*edit* My friends in the military tell me that they are treated like crap and I can see how it would wear down on your nerves, they have no one to go to for help either. They can't go to the psychiatrist because that would be a mark against their record. (this guy was a psychiatrist -__-) But still, there are other ways of dealing with this than going out and murdering people.

i still don't know the main reason (i don't believe the media crap so quick) why this guy acted like this...

Re: [News]Deadly shootings at US army base
He's still alive, but was shot 4 times and is on a ventilator.
XemnasXD, doesn't justify his actions AT ALL, PERIOD. Boo hoo, he was picked on and didn't like what HE signed up for, go kill yourself (Hasan).
I hate stuff like this.. gunned down in their own military base..
I have friends and relatives who have been through Fort Hood. My best friends dad left from Fort Hood Monday, he's in another state now and will be heading to Afghanistan in a month or so..

I am surprised he managed to kill and injury that many before he got caught or shot. But he doesn't deserve death by gun. I mean death by gun = 1 second death, while prison equals years and years of torture an boredom.

I believe this wouldn't be accepted in Islam. As I said in the other thread hypocrisy is never allowed. You were born in Usa. You are an American citizen. You went to the army. Therefore, you HAVE to accept what they tell you to do. I mean it's his choice he went to the army in USA right? He's not forced or required to go.
So, being a soldier he chose to be with his free will, but then turning his back and shooting at his "own" country is not ok. You have to show your self as an enemy before fighting a place. Like bombs/kills like these would be counted as an act of terrorism, being dishonest.
I don't see where his actions contradict his Islamic faith. He is allowed to kill non-Muslim soldiers who have attacked Islamic countries. Islam is worldwide, it's above country loyalty.

Despite it being a military base, very few personnel actually carry weapons on base. Only a select few are allowed, MPs, guards, etc and those on range or headed to range/training.
I'm wondering what all he will be charged with and what his punishment will be.. is this not treason?

good thing this didnt happen during the bush dictatorshit. it would have likely been deemed terrorist activity. i get the feeling they declared him dead for so long because they were considering letting him die, or killing him. dishonorable piece of shit.

I heard one of the guys from that base that died was in my graduating class, from Bolingbrook IL. I couldn't help but LOL. The guy was a complete jerk anyway, no loss. Trained killers are worth zero value to me.

All military personnel, of any country. Killing to prove killing is wrong is the most common hypocrisy ever. IDC if they're white, orange, brown or purple, if they were trained to kill, they're worthless to me, and society. Killing sucks =l

Killing sucks give me a break.

They are trained to protect you. The only way to do that, in most cases, is to kill. But it's ok, they die so YOU can have the freedom to post insults about them on an Internet forum.
In what country do you live?
This thread is now officially headed down hill.
EDIT: Grr.

EDIT: Grr.
I live in the U.S.
Why can't all Armys just back off, drop all their guns and figure things out in a more sophisticated way. Killing to prove your point is SOOOO 1700 years ago.
It was downhill from the start xD

Re: [News]Deadly shootings at US army base
Hey EvGa, take a moment to think for a second. First of all i never said his actions were justified. Secondly its not like the guy was a new recruit, his job was to help soldiers in the military coming back from iraq. A job only made harder by the his own ethnicity which incited harassment from many personnel. He sat through that for a long time all the while trying to get out and clearly falling into a terrible state of mind. Like i said i think what happened was terrible but whats even more terrible is that just like V-Tech, just like Columbine, there were clear identifiable signs that something was wrong and nobody cared.
You make light of his plight all you want but you're only proving my point. Whether you like to believe it or not soldiers are still people with emotions and are just as susceptible to depression and acts of violence as anyone else. In fact due to their situation they are more likely. If you want to just say boohoo they should deal expect to see alot more outburst like this at here and overseas.
Also check your sources because posting unconfirmed garbage like that allah ackbar shit is needless adding more flames to the issue you tool...

Sorry, it almost sounded like you were trying to place blame on the innocent and/or victims since they didn't help him. In other words, their fault they got shot up by this crazy. I'm sure and with your following post I assume that's not what you meant, but it just seemed like that..
I know that soldiers are still people.. My dad served in the U.S. Marine Corps.. so did my grandfather.. so did 3 of my uncles. My grandfather was wounded in Vietnam, my dad saw action in Desert Storm. yadda yadda. I know they are people and have problems like everyone else, but unlike Hasan and the incidents you mentioned, everyone else doesn't go around killing people when life gets them down.
Sorry to attack your post, perhaps I read into it wrongly.
EDITED after your edit: I quoted that from an Associated Press report, you Farking name calling ******. lolwut? I specifically said the report was trying to stir the pot.

Rare times I agree with you, this is one. And its not like Im some anti war person. I have a lot of family and friends fighting now or about to go and fight. But EvGa is one of the top dumb asses on the forums, talks out his ass a lot.
