http://www.silkroadonline.net/sro_board ... 912b543eb5

Solved my problem. :)

------------------

Hello. This is Silkroad Online.

There are users at the moment that are not able to connect to Silkroad Online. If you cannot connect to the game, please try the following steps:

1. Go to path C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\ and open filename 'hosts' with notepad.

2. Enter the following information in the opened file, 'hosts':
127.0.0.1 localhost
121.128.133.26 gwgt1.joymax.com

3. Reboot computer, and try running Silkroad Online again.

If users find the above steps difficult to follow, you will be able to play the game at most in 2~3 days.

We are sorry for the inconvenience caused.

Very important that you use 121.128.133.26 gwgt1.joymax.com
There has been another solution with a different IP address.

I also uninstalled Silkroad and deleted the silkroad folder
C:\Program Files\silkroad\
And deleted temp files.

Reinstalled and used the HOST solution.
If necesary also use system restore.

Its not on your end, its on your ISPs end. You cant do a thing, besides whats in the first post.

1 Browse to C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc
2 doubleklikk the file named... hosts ( if you cant find it learn about hidden files and folders )
3 chose notepad as the program to open it with.

4 it should look like this when it is working

# Copyright (c) 1993-1999 Microsoft Corp.
#
# This is a sample HOSTS file used by Microsoft TCP/IP for Windows.
#
# This file contains the mappings of IP addresses to host names. Each
# entry should be kept on an individual line. The IP address should
# be placed in the first column followed by the corresponding host name.
# The IP address and the host name should be separated by at least one
# space.
#
# Additionally, comments (such as these) may be inserted on individual
# lines or following the machine name denoted by a '#' symbol.
#
# For example:
#
# 102.54.94.97 rhino.acme.com # source server
# 38.25.63.10 x.acme.com # x client host

127.0.0.1 localhost
121.128.133.26 gwgt1.joymax.com

Anything in the notepad with a # means that it is irrelevant/doesnt matter.
( just comments )

127.0.0.1 localhost
127.0.0.1 and localhost is your nic. ping this and you ping yourself.
Dont think to much about this.

The important part is that somewhere is a .. ( with outh a # )

121.128.133.26 gwgt1.joymax.com

Close notepad and choose yes.. to save it.
If youre not allowed to save then it can be read only.
1 right click HOSTS and choose properties
2 remove the check mark from read only.

1 Post you exact error message or description of the problem.
2 describe what part of the trouble shooting you cannot do.
3 Even tell what you have done

A Uninstall Silkroad
B remove the silkroad folder
C Reinstall Silkroad ( here you still might get an error, ignore )
D Update the host file and test

You might have a different problem than me. And need a different solution.

Because.. whatever.exe has encountered an error .. is a common error message. Basically means the fucker has crashed.

If you still have the maintenance message it most likely the host file. And not the ISP.

The ip to http://www.silkroadonline.net/ is
121.128.133.12

try it instead.

Or try start/run cmd.
And ipconfig /flushdns
