Then when he shoots the thief that breaks in inky will be pressed with charges and the state will side with the thief, who are they protecting again?

Inky should move to another state? We don't seem to have that problem here too much.. at least not that I've seen. Could be wrong though.

For the record: I own 2 hunting rifles, 1 assault rifle, 2 shotguns, and a compound bow. A thief breaking in to my home right now would easily harm me before I could ever get any of my weapons out of their cases and then loaded with ammunition. I own them for recreational purposes. Random fact.

Lol, what kind of game are you expecting to take down with just a handgun '~,o? I know .45 ACP can take down quite a few game, but doubt you are going to be able to get close enough to use it considering the distance you'll have to be to get a clean shot off.

Anyone?

If yes, what are the restrictions?

for bigger game you are going to need something like .44+ magnum. I think you are not allowed to shoot big game with small weapons because the change is you are only going to wound the animal. shotgun with a deer slugs or a rifle would be my choice.

but if you like handguns get something like this. :)

That's a pretty neat gun peex XD

Make the barrel just a bit wider (for looks) and it'll be fcking flawless.

@Scarlett: Yeah..that's why I was asking about high power machine guns as well.

Man, they should gather up all the hardcore criminals - murderers, rapists, home invaders, human traffickers, etc - put them in a football stadium size field with a bunch of obstacles (trees, rocks, small houses) - bind their hands behind their backs - and put a couple of people to hunt them down in the field. Then sell tickets and put that shit in PPV.

These fcking NYC gun laws stink >_>
Maybe I should just get myself a slingshot and a sword. Getting those is as easy as buying DVD from Best Buy.

You could take down game with a 9mm with correct shot placement at close range. No different than bow hunting. I only shoot at deer within 30 yards with my bow and have to hit their vitals in order to make a quick/clean kill.

Getting to within 30 yards of untamed deer takes a little more work then just grabbing a pistol and walking out in the woods though lol. Scent control, wind direction, etc play a big role. It's amazing how well deer and other game can smell.

Well, If you have a crappy shotgun and can't kill the deer with that. Then you may be in big trouble..
and the deer would suffer a slow death. It would be cruel really. BTW: A gun is not a toy.

Join the club, most major cities seem to be heading that direction. It's 30 miles so I can shoot outdoors. Ranges are fun, but you can't shoot at things other than a target...

I own a 3' sword, they are really easy to find - although the edge is slightly duller. A true sword to be used as a weapon might be a little harder; I've never looked. The sword is for display and occasional practice only.

Ever thought about a true two-handed longsword? (like a bast*rd sword) Tough to swing and carry!

More fun to shot it with a handgun? Thats the reason for this? See this is why im so conflicted about gun ownership. The weapons and rounds used for hunting animals should be the ones that cause the least amount of pain and grant the quickest cleanest kill. Shooting an animal with a weak gun or with OP rounds for fun is just sick, its a living thing...

Sometimes the quickest killing round is actually the least humane.

Regular 5.56 isn't the ideal hunting round because even though it'll shred whatever you shoot, you'd end up picking the pieces of fragmented metal out in order to save the meat. That's why people prefer slower moving, heavier rounds for hunting so they can hit a major organ like the heart and kill it cleanly that way. There are different loads for every caliber too.

AR's and handguns are more fun to shoot too, yes. :P

Sporterized rifles are tres lame.

Yep. I use a 150 grain core lokt soft points in my .270 when hunting with a rifle. I've never had a deer take a step after being shot with my .270. They are dead before they know what happened. EDIT: Meant to add, it also tears the meat up pretty bad. I've started shooting for their necks.. instant kill and doesn't ruin the meat of the front shoulders.

I agree hunting a deer or other animal with a handgun simply because it sounds fun isn't a good idea. An experienced ethical hunter could harvest game with a .22 pistol and not have the animal suffer, but the risks outweigh the "reward".. ie. the animal suffering just so you could "have some fun", if you don't make a perfect shot.

AR's are definitely fun to shoot. Mine isn't decked out with all the useless lights and shat. It's plain jane open sights. See above pic :D

EDIT: Here's why I don't shoot deer with my AR.. check out the size difference in the .223 round I shoot from my AR and the .270 round. The AR would get the job done fine, but I have more confidence in a quick kill with the .270. Not to mention the .270 will reach out a loooong way.
