How do I play music as a bard?

How do I play music as a bard?

I know I have to be next to another bard, but what does the other bard have to be doing and what do I have to do to allow me to play music?

The bards have to be in the same party and one must do a tambour skill (Mana Tambour, Guard Tambour, etc). The other bard is now able to do activate one dance skill and one more tambour skill. It's possible to have more than one dance activated if more than two bards join the party.
