scary stuff...i just kept picturing ppl getting hit by those things...pretty impressive though to see metal hitting something so hard it almost turns into a liquid but due to pressure not heat...

Yeah lead slugs and lead cores tend to behave like liquid in high speed. The part (jacket) that peels off is usually steel, copper, or brass.

The cubes they were shooting were ballistic gel cubes. They simulate the density of human flesh, so just picture that happening when you get hit.

Nice! I've been watching this show on the History channel about weapons (mostly guns) lately and they show a bunch of shots like these in slow-mo and up close. Show is called Lock N' Load or something. Pretty neat stuff.
